[Downloads might come later. Anyway another update.

I have cleaned up the areas on the Dominance i think appear cluttered and have put up a heavy fighter and a bomber. These two are my first tries at making a fighter sprite and i think they came out quite well. The judge could use more work but i still think its passable.

Anyway hopefully i can get around to building more soon. Until then.. out.] <==== Previous post.

Seeing as how I have the first post on the second page, this post will now be for pictures and updates.

Scythe and Halberd now in UFC thread.

Borealis
Image
The Borealis is a Battle Cruiser currently in service for the Triton's Navy. Its design is a continuation of the Aurora strike cruiser, featuring a significant number of beam weapon and particle accelerators as its principle forms of armament. It also has the large cooling fins that are now becoming more and more common place amongst Triton's new age vessels. In addition to its various offensive attributes, it also possesses new armor technology that allows them to better resist ballistic fire.

Guardian
Image
If bigger means better, then Guardian is where its at. This ship is very heavily armed and armored Battle Cruiser designed with the intent to take on any Tritonian vessel and win. With at least six dual ballistic cannons studded along the each side of the ship and eight multi launch missile racks, the Guardian packs an incredible amount of broadside firepower. However that is not the end of it, it also possesses six more single barreled cannons to cover its forward arc and also flare launchers to confuse and defeat point defense systems to allow for the highest number of shell hits on any target.

Steward
Image
The Steward is a strike cruiser of similar strength and dimension to the Aurora cruiser. Moderately armed with a mixture of dual and single barreled ballistic cannons, it can deal out punishment from the front and to the sides. Its various missile racks also added an additional punch.

Beautiful. You, good sir, have achieved an epic status of win.

Another update this time its a strike cruiser.

The aurora, just something that came to mind out of nothing. Only after it was finished did I realize that it resembled some of AD own creations.

So i guess we can all say that his ships provided a bit of inspiration. So thanks to him.

Pretty much the first time my ships inspire someone :D

Either way, I'm digging that ship. Nice color scheme, interesting sectionwork as always. Good job. One small nitpick; I have this feeling the twinblasters would look better with a custom weapons sprite, or at least depthing.

Yay massive update. Completed with the Guardian, Borealis, and the steward. Well i guess its now apparent that im following two design choices now.

I know that the Borealis and the Aurora are very similar to AD's AHAB vessels, but all I can say is that I like the style so i'm not going to consider changing it.

The Borealis and the Aurora belong to the people from Triton. (yay far out moon) and the Guardian, Steward and Dominance belong to the Nation of Inner Solar Planets.

mhmmm yes lame names, I might throw in a back story sometime but at the moment its not a priority.

So what do people have to say about these new weapons of war. :D

Ed: I can do action shots, but i'm not sure if i got enough time for that now. >_>

Being able to simultaneously pull off two distinct styles of ships, and excel at it, is the hallmark of a good shipbuilder.

That's you, buddy.

The Borealis is impressive. I didn't think poisonous yellow would work on a ship, but you pulled it off nicely.

Guardian and Steward are very good, too, but I don't really like the innermost hole in the Guardian's bow.

Hmmm... I have this urge to appropriate and modify the Steward for the Metagame. Any chance of you doing a few one-off designs for the metagame on that note?

bump, added the halberd.

Wanted to do something small so the halberd was the result. Actually the design of the Halberd came around as an attempt to revive this design concept i had earlier.
Long long time ago, when the expanded BSF was in its infancy and shrouded in mystery, I had the opportunity to build something so incredibly massive it would outsize almost everything. The concept and the idea was there, the only thing was they execution was not.
Since im no good with words ill just let a picture do most of the talking.

Image
Behold, the massive failure that is this ship. It consisted of so many pieces i believe the SM at the time could only run it half the time if even. The coloring and the section use was botched in most places.

Nevertheless after a good while of thinking, I have decided that it is time to retry this design. While definitely lacking in size, i think the halberd captures the sprite of this juggernaut's design nicely.

So with that, comments on the halberd or its massive failure of a brother anyone?

I like the Halberd, it has a nice sleek design compared to its bigger brother and has a sort of 'advanced' feel to it. Im curious, did you use fake aegis to get the orange glow beneath the center, aft, and front of the ship?

ITS BIG, and the coloring needs work i have to say but the design and shape is absolutely marvelous, once the coloring is fixed and its gets some turrets and what not it'll be win.

Such an interesting design, it looks like it should split/rotate and become a giant mech...I love the thought you put into every inch, its like every detail is there because it needs to be, not as filler.

The aegised spikes kinda of bug me after the simplicity of the corner engines...I like that you used plenty of classic sections, though in places they might feel overused if not for the shading. Theres a few sections like ce30 that bug me for reason but could just be they seem too specific to be crowded in amongst other sections.

I can't wait to see it up close because there are just too many sections to process.

Woah woah, let me clarify one thing first, this big big big ship is made with a much older version of SM. What this means is that the current SM cannot open it. Neither can the version of SM that built the thing because it was so huge (at least on my computer anyway).
So what im trying to get to is that that massive warship is nothing more but a wreck now, and its going to stay that way.

@Veronw: Nope, no fake aegis on the Halberd.

bump. Added Scythe. Credit goes to EriErin for his pulse beam sprite which I used for the beam cannons.

@Veronw: Right click, Set Blend Mode, Additive for the fraxy glowy sprite ball thing.

Comments on this new ship?

Edit: now moved to UFC thread.
