Ships from a lurker

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Ships from a lurker

Post by Highlink »

these are just some ships I've been messing with that I wanted your opinions on...any help making them better would be greatly appreciated. I have not chosen a color scheme for them yet.

Edit: New version of the armed one, don't know what weapons to add, is color scheme ok? The core keeps turning green every time I open the ship, is there a fix?

a decent start. I'd color it a bit even if you haven't decided you fleet colors or whatever, just so it can have a sense of depth. I'd also hide some of those weapons. For some reason I like the second one better but I feel like the first one could be expanded and then it would look right.

Weapon layout is fine, only the ship has a unusual large amount of detailed sections.
Coloring is next?

Ow, it's green... Less green...

and two we find before.

I would suggest using less detailed sections. When unarmed, the ship looks good, but in the armed version, some of the weapons clash with the section's details.
I think you should remove all the weapons except the MiniMissile Racks and re-arm it.

BTW. Colours please!

About that core, um... just cover it up.
I usually leave my cores green anyway so that I can make a few sections that color to act as team indicators in the game.

Pretty neat for a first try.
How did you make those Mini missiles get Under parts of the ship?

Weapon depthing. Hit w in shipmaker to give a weapon the same depth as its parent section.

These detailed planes are cool! Either they look 3d or i spent too much time on the computer. But seriously, i appreciate detailed ships (maybe other people doesn't even appreciate mine, or any others, but i definitely do appreciate the effort!)

Thumbs up for first try! (and probably the next one, and i hope the next one too. The next other one maybe. Okay i got to stop.)

i think you spent too much time on the com, cause the green is KILLING my eyes.
highlink, you souldn't pack parts together to make a ship, especially when it is heavily armed, unless its a cargo ship. gd ships for a beginner though(green sux!)
