I'm back with a few more ships. And I'd need a little help.

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Black is black, black does not show, not showing is ugly, ugly is ugly.

No matter what you tried with it, it keeps being ugly

And your assistance = shit.

Besides: That's hardly black to me.
Dark grey if anything.

I had a dark fleet once, it was cool n all, but eventually you realise that dark greys aren't all that interesting without some detail or something to spice them up.

Meh, I think most people experiment with it at some point, but you should quickly realise that it's not all that good an effect.

The ship design itself isn't that interesting, but there doesn't appear to be any mistakes.

Nutcase, I won't knock you on the darkness of your colors, but I do think that the green looks a bit out of place. I don't know if it's actually the color or just the fact that there's so little of it, and what there is looks almost disconnected, but I don't really think it fits well.
"Okay. I'm gonna get your money for ya. But if you don't get the President of the United States on that phone, you know what's gonna happen to you?"
"What?!"

Actually the green is the only coloured part of the ships. Also known as colour 1.
Image

Notes:
1.)At the moment The Locust IIB is pretty much superior to the A model which I'll have to remake anyway. The Dart was supposed to be outdated.
2.)The difference between ships in the middle is in the weaponry.
3.)The Svarog is a remake of a .88 capital ship I made during another attempt.
4.)There's no carriers in the picture.

SC=Strike Corvette

Post by Nutcase »

I'm a bored bastard so I'm gonna doublepost over here.
Type 21 strike corvette.
Armed with two torpedo tubes in the front and an EMP torpedo tube in the back it's the most powerful Corvette in the Terran militia arsenal.
Image
Although it's days in the navy are over, the surviving ships are used by the militia for anti pirate patrol and heavy combat (Not that it happens much).

A militia 'wolf pack' engaging two wings of pirate raiders.
Ships:
-Militia: SC-94, SC-124(slight damage to the side pods, two wounded), SC-569
-Pirate forces: 8 raiders (All destroyed, nine survivors).
Image

Pirate raider
Image
The basic design for the raider was the P-16 Patrol corvette. The engines were replaced by a more powerful version on the sides instead of the ones in the rear sections, allowing greater speeds and sufficient armour for combat.
It's machine guns were replaced by a single stronger one and a pair of missile launchers in the front.
The frontal armour was redesigned and armour plating was added to protect the engines which became a significant weak spot due to their exposed location.

P-16 class patrol corvette.
Image
An old patrol corvette that never really deserved it's class.
The guns could barely keep away a combat drone. Most armed craft would rip it to pieces and the rest could probably run away.
During it's short service with the militia, it was mainly used for long range patrol due to it's long range.
Some can be seen heavily modified in civilian use or in the hands of pirates.

You should add color other than green

^Oversized avatar detected me thinks.

As for the ships, there really dark and could use some lighter shades and more vibrant colors though the dark green/grey solor scheme could possible work out nicely.

Okay guys time for a status update: Because I might have to scrap this project and go clean slate on my game.
Reason: I might go around toying with Vista's annoying security and I'm to lazy to change the security settings every time I plan on doing something it doesn't like.
Since I couldn't use these ships anymore if I did that I'm putting it up to a vote.

Should I scrap this fleet?
Yes or no posts, IF I get 5 No's I'll finish it first.

Oh and.
I've been busy.
Here you have the Stheno mk.II battleship.
Image

Only two races are capable of taking a pre-Medusa battleship and making it combat worthy again.
Should the two cooperate however, nobody wants to fight the result that is the Steno. Medusa's big sister was a dangerous foe before it's refit. Now it's equipped with four shield emitters, twin ion cannons with advance alien heat sinks allowing way longer beam duration which results in any ship smaller than a heavy cruiser in front of the ship lasting for an average of 3 seconds.
The ships' reactors were replaced my far more advanced and efficient alien models while the armour, engines and weaponry remained mostly human.

Combat trials against an unknown battleship sized vessel.
Image

Note: The right ion cannon was somehow duplicated. A really annoying bug.

The first thing I'm gonna do is polish up the old ships before starting with the newer ones.

An unfinished Borealis left alone for a second=slaughter.
Borealis
Image
TODO:
-Paintjob (Brighten it up a bit and some more green. Probably some on the launch tubes)
-Inner thrusters (Done)
Image
That might not have been such a good idea...
Opinions?

Notes: Need to remake the letters. (Partially done)

Updates(Only cosmetic changes):
-Hull 10 points brighter.
-Thrusters fixed.

Gonna redo the second pic.

Naming ships is a nice idea, but it might be easier to use the character set made by BoVinE.

Or if you did use them, make sure all characters are the same size.

Never noticed that before.
Ahh crap. I go through all the trouble of making characters and then I find out someone beat me to it.
Note: They're already fixed; Look previous post.

Hull colours are still ridiculously dark, and if you're going to do 'schematic' images, it's generally a good idea to use a colour that contrasts well against white like red, black and so on, rather than bright cyan. :|

I should've inverted the colours before I wrote the stuff anyway.
I regard the Borealis as finished at the moment.
