Backstory:
A.D. 2095, war drums are beating once again...

The colonization of Mars became a reality a few decades ago. Back on Earth, conflicts erupted between most nations. The superpowers decided to end their disputes and unite under one single banner, The Earth Coalition. Intending to end all kinds of conflict on Earth, The Earth Coalition soon ruled entire Earth.

However, ruling the blue planet is not their only ambition... Uniting the rest of mankind as their mission, they declared war on Mars. The Mars Goverment,

Mars People's Union, or MPU, not wishing to be subjugated, defended themselves...
Lines are now clearly drawn...
One war...
Two sides...

Who shall prevail?

The Earth Coalition rose from the ashes of the World War III. During the year 2067, several nuclear weapons detonated in the Middle East, forcing the Islamic Conglomerate's all-out invasion of Europe and Russia to cease and surrendered unconditonally (Known as the Apocalypse Dawn), on the Lhasa Post-War Conference, several victor nations, namely the United States of America, Unified Republics of Europe, the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation, signed the Lhasa treaty, mandating a formation of an global politico-military organzation, to prevent further conflicts among Terran nations. The next year, 189 nations abandoned their armies and joined this organization. Marking the birth of the Earth Coalition.

Unlike the United Nations, the Coaltion is regulated by the core founding nations(Instead of a security council elected by member nations), the Earth Coalition represented as the Terran's sole governing body, and aimed at uniting the mankind under one single banner. While every Coalition's citizen enjoys a high degree of social freedom, political freedoms are very limited. The Coaliton goverment practiced strict media censorship, complimented with a independent investigation comission (Secret police unit) to monitor the citizen's political decision and awareness.

Since the Martian's declaration of independence in the year 2081, the Earth Coalition immediately harboured a hostile stance against the MPU. Peace talks were held from 2081 to 2083, but not much progress were made. On 31st December ,2094, when a civilian freighter, A.I.T. Hope was destroyed within a legal trade route near the Asteroid Belt(The Hope Incident). The Earth Coalition blamed the MPU for attacking the civilian freighter, hence using this as a Casus belli. On 14 Feburary, 2095, the Earth Coalition launches an all-out assault towards the Mars Orbit.

F-99A2 Zodiac Carrier-borne Interceptor
Image
Armaments
1x FARATECH PR-001A3 10MW Plasma Repeater
2x Missile Hardpoints (AIM-11 "Hunter" Heatseeking Missiles equipped by default)

What is now known as the "first-generation starfighter" in history books, the Zodiac was the first space fighter ever designed by Terrans. Previously an atmospheric fighter, Zodiac lacks manuverbility and speed, however, it's armament packs quite a punch against strikecrafts.

AG(S)-01 Aztec Assault Gunship (Space Varient)
Image
Armaments
1x Bofors-NORCO AC-75 75mm Kinetic Autogun
2x Short Range Missile Arrays (SAUL-11 "Inferno" HVAP Missiles equipped by default)

Coalition officers realized that Zodiac's performance is unsatisfactory when dealing with heavier capital ships, which is equipped with anti-fighter weapons. Thus the warship designers created the Aztec. While slow and lumbering in strikecraft standards, it can inflict heavy damage on corrvettes and frigates.

CVS-84 Liberty-class Supercarrier
Image
Armaments:
2x Medium Range Missile Arrays (TL-15A Supression Missiles equipped by default)
3x Dual-barreled 256mm Bofors-NORCO MCH-256 Heavy Kinetic Cannons
5x Twin-mounted FARATECH AAL-004 20MW Anti-Aerospace Laser Cannons
8x Gehwerfaust CIWS Systems
22x 90mm Bofors-NORCO MCL-90 Light Kinetic Cannons

The heaviest vessels within the Coalition fleet, nicknamed "The flying firebase". The Liberty-class Supercarriers serve as command centers and flagships of every battle group. The main role of Liberty-class is to provide anti-strikecraft support to the corresponding battle group, each Liberty-class can carry up to 480 units of F-99 Zodiac fighters. Due to it's strategic importance on battlefield, the Liberty-class is armed with numerous offensive and defensive weapons, making it an extremely formidable capital ship against most enemies.

DD-82R2 Archer-class Strike Destroyer
Image
Armaments:
2x Dual-barreled Bofors-NORCO MCH-180 180mm Medium Kinetic Cannons
4x Gewherfaust CIWS Systems
12x 90mm Bofors MCL-90 Light Kinetic Cannons
4x Variable-Ordinace Torpedo Tubes (VOTT) (NF Warhead)
2x Medium Range Missile Array (SAUL-5H Minimissiles equipped by default)

Archer-class is the mainstay combatant of the Coalition's fleet. Highly praised among the Coalition's officers due to it's balance between firepower and speed, as well as it's versatility on battlefield. They make up the main bulk of the Coalition fleet.

FF-83R3 Normandy-class Defensive/Anti-Aerospace Frigate
Image
Armaments
1x Dual-barreled 180mm Bofors-NORCO MCH-180 Medium Kinetic Cannon
2x 90mm Bofors-NORCO MCL-90 Light Kinetic Cannons
2x FARATECH Countermeasures Dispensers
2x Variable-Ordinace Torpedo Tubes (VOTT) (EMP Warhead)
3x Twin-mounted FARATECH AAL-004 20MW Anti-Aerospace Laser Cannons

While the Earth Coaltion's naval doctrine focuses on the use of destroyers and carrier-borne strikecrafts, they still needed some lighter naval vessels in fulfilling supportive roles, the Normandy-class is one such vessel. Enemy strikecraft pilots would tremble in fear with the Normandy's presence, it's AAL-004 Anti-Aerospace Laser Cannons are extremely fatal against strikecrafts. Combined with other defensive weapons, Normandy-class is a strong "Hoplite-type" vessel.

CC-95 Liverpool-class Fire Support/Bombardment Corvette
Image
1x FARATECH PDLX-003 15MW Point Defense Lasgun
1x 90mm Bofors AC-90HE Kinetic Autocannon (HE)
2x Long Range Missile Array (LAM-T5 Bombardment Missiles equipped by default)

The latest addition to the Coaltion's fleet, the Liverpool-class is developed in order to compensate Archer-class' lack of long-range weaponry. While designed as a fire support vessel, some fleet commanders tend to use Liverpool-class for hit-and-run tactics, thanks to it's speed and manuverblity.

Nice,
But they might be slightly overarmed, but maybe that's just what they are supposed to be. I like the grey/blue colours looks very down to earth, not some over coloured shoot me thingie. Yet everything fits together.

I would love to see fighters or battleships, with this design.

Noooo....Does this mean your quiting Mech building? Your Mechs define you, becomes who you are, Mechs influence your life and others. Once a Mech maker always a Mech maker. Nice ships however, but any Mechs to come along with them?

PS:Love the depth work and section layout and placement, makes a smooth flowing look like a old stone sitting on the river bed, under the torrent of thousands of tonnes of water for many years. The old stone stands out from the young new rocks. Well done. Building Mechs helped you well.

Doombringer: Look at my mecha thread. I am cooking up something new. As for your second question, the answer is no, mechas just don't fit in.

A small update, nothing really fancy here, but added a one-section fighter.

That is an extremely excellent fighter.
Though I'm torn, whether its one-sectionness is good or bad, on the good side it keeps lag down, but then it loses the whole BSF breakapart thing.

Fighters in the minifleet project are supposed to be some sort of "cannon fodder" unit, it has low hp and gets killed off easily, so a one section fighter will be neat and clean for that.

Plus does it really make sense for a fighter to continue existing at full function after having pieces blown off of it? No, I'll take my fifty fighters at once over a break-apart. At least yours looks more bsfish than the ones I posted, I will have to try that.

I really like the destroyer and frigate, I think you pulled something off there even though their relatively simple. Are you making a carrier to carry the fighters? Not that it would work for dogfights, but if you do the fin funnel thing, you could actually make them launch off a deck!

Those are some pretty cool looking ships there. Like what everyone else said, awesome fighter. Do you believe you've achieved the F-99's 'swarming' effectiveness? Seems like you could make some nice dogfights.

your new supercarrier is designed very nicely but it has too much weapons. i especially love the runway, but if your light kinetic cannons fire when deploying a ship... KABOOOOM!!!!

I think I'm in love with your carrier! Great execution, plus the runways(finally!), and its armed like a carrier should be!

That's more of a battlestar than a carrier.
I count 30 guns and two missile launchers.
