Mephisto's Ships

Hello again ladies and gentlemen, it's been a while since I posted anything here (0.90b rendered a WIP fleet useless

), but I've been playing around with the new version and have a few ships to submit for your consideration.

First, we have the Aster Dominae class frigate of Her Majesty's Navy, which will (hopefully) be joined with a few other steampunk styled spacecraft in the next few days. All of the exposed gears rotate, and a pair of doors towards the front of the ship open to reveal a reactor of sorts when the tesla cannon acquires a target. Occasionally, it throws up an error or two upon being destroyed, but this only rarely occurs, and I've been quite unable to track down the cause.

And now for something completely different...

Here's my take on the Sword Class Frigate from Battlefleet Gothic. For some reason, Photobucket compressed the file oddly (and yes, I did use PNG image files), so the prow armor doesn't look quite so pixelated in-game. Oh, and by the way, it's balanced against the rest of the BFG ships I'm working on, so I would kindly request that no one complain about it being overpowered relative to the stock escorts (which it is, to a ridiculous level).

They need colors, too much grey and dark stuff.

They don't need colors at all. The fact that he uses sparse amount of clear colors makes everything stand out more. I also love the crisp feel of your outlining style.

The Imperial ship is really well done!

I agree with Cycerin.

You don't need psychedelic colors to make a good ship. You just need a sense of depth.

the Aster Dominae class frigate looks really good, specially the steam pipes
on the back but i think the color of the shield doesn't really match with the ship in general

Warhammer ships are grimdark by default. I love the sword, can't wait to see the other BFG ships you make.

Colours are alright, but your use of outlining is anything but good.

Neat smokestack effect too, though the shields look really weird.
