Knights of the Baseline Frequency - Finalized for now
Knights of the Baseline Frequency
The Knights were a guerilla operation that fought for the independence of Luna from the United Spacefaring States of Terra. Their efforts were crucial in deciding the course of the First Solar War of 2065AD, launching surprise attacks on key Terran and Martian military positions as well as inciting rebellions and riots among the general populace.
They were a secretive organization with no official operational name. The nickname "Knights of the Baseline Frequency", or simply "the Knights" for short, refers to the standard radiowave frequency that they used for communication between their Lunarian and Terran divisions; a frequency slightly below the operational range of standard Terran equipment, achievable through the use of heavily modified transmission satellites.
The Knights are most notable for their sneak attack on the TEV Crocker, a prototype Terran battleship that was still in spacedock at the time. After the base's outer defences had been cleared out, the shipyard complex was grappled by several heavy-duty automated tugboats (in one account 100~) and forced into the Earth's atmosphere, causing it to plummet to the ground and cause immense collateral damage upon impact. It is not known whether or not the Knights had intended for the shipyard to land directly on the bustling city of New Nassau; the incident had a profound effect on the course of the war, at the cost of the thousands of lives lost in the crash.
Ships
The Knights' ships were mostly based on at-the-time current-gen Terran technology (TIMESHEEFT BITCHEZ). The Orbital Citizens' Union of Lunaria had no military ships of its own prior to the formation of Lunarian Combat-Oriented Light Industries GmbH in 2076AD; the Knights were the first to construct ships with low-cost escape technology more suited to Luna's very low escape velocity.
Normally, a lowly rebel faction would not be able to fund the construction of off-planet spacedocks or launch million-dollar rockets carrying their ships into space; the conditions on Luna allowed advanced spacecraft to be constructed on the ground and launched using the same thrust used to propel it through space, for a fraction of the price used to prepare Terran spaceships for launch. LOLI GmbH would eventually base their ship designs off of the Knights' technology, pioneering Lunaria's first line of dedicated space warships.

It's like you took stock ships and added awesomeness. I see the Hestia and that little plasma charge armed patrol craft. Epic.
Can't wait for a Cronus. (maybe)

These are totally awesome, the style, the colors...
I like the Watergate roundness, but the Grassy Knoll is a bit square-ish. Not that is bad, but i think it would fit the style better.

VORLON SHIPBUILDER
Visit the Babylon5 Fleet page, now with 32 different ships all in scale with each other in both size and firepower.

No problem. I'll put up a combined download once I finish the Cronus clone.2500kgm3 wrote:like them! could we have a preview download too test them for balancing purpouses?
In a word, no. I'll package the custom sections required for these ships, but I probably won't be creating any generic section packs anytime soon.X-14 wrote:NIce Ships. Nice Sections. Are you making a Sections-Pack too????
I tutored myself in 3D modeling and pick up the occasional job for my dad and such, but I've never considered myself good with pixelart or the like. It's finicky. I think I got unbelievably lucky with these sprites.Cycerin wrote:I'm suddenly really inspired. Eri do you have a background with drawing or graphics design? These color schemes and curved features are simply amazing.

ITT Erin makes me feel inferior. Yet again.
One thing that really irks me is the exposed, stock-style cores. They really don't fit the form (more so in the Watergate/Uber Hestia).

The ships are cool as always, yet the backstory reminds me of Code Geass pretty much. (Some kind of Knight cults, lol.)
