Yeah, I know it's been like...eight, ten months or whatever time period it's been before .SB4 format ever came out since I last did anything involving shipbuilding, but I finally saw the new version, got a glimpse of the weapons, saw the use of custom sprites, and decided whatever, I'll try this thing again. Now I'm going to try not to make this thing gargantuan, and I'm going to greatly reduce the amount of blue (Yes it's back to blue and grey for me) on the ship, not make the ship a mindfuck whenever it fires, and ensure that the internals are good.
As of this very moment this is what I have set up as part of the bridge.
So yeah, I'm back I guess. Doomsday anyone?

Trust me...I'm far too daft to know how to use those.
Otherwise I'd make this ship have folding battle blades.

It's from Warning Forever. That's the sprite the bridge sprite in BSF is based on I think.Venator wrote:Yay Spoot!
It's even blue!
What's that blue thing in the center, a custom pixelated/Fraxy-style sprite?
Fly me to the moon, so I can play among the stars~

Not a bad start, if rather simple... it looks rather abrupt though, like it's only half-built.

Hey spoot, welcome back
The bridge is looking pretty nice so far, definitely looking forward to seeing the finished thing
Although I would be a bit careful, as their is quite a bit of disparity in the level of detail from one section to the next, almost glaringly so. Not sure what could be done about it however (what I mean by that is that you have the really plain WF sections, and then right in front of them heavily detailed sections)
Again though, not sure how important that is, or if there's any way around it.

Another spooty monstrosity in the making. Remember that 1000+ sections will crash BSF if you load the ship, I suggest screenshotting as much assemblies as you can, such as this bridge portion, and using them as one section. Simple editing process that makes the ship playable.

There's some small sprites that I could try adding on top of it.lightstriker wrote:Not sure what could be done about it however (what I mean by that is that you have the really plain WF sections, and then right in front of them heavily detailed sections)

You kidding? I know I've missed your work, and I think I may have joined after you left. (or at the least, while you were finishing up your last generation of ships)
Looking pretty good so far, though I'd also have to agree that the detail level should be a bit more even, and that making the central WF sections more detailed would be the way to go.
At first, I thought that it was a finished ship already, especially since you said that you'd be trying for smaller ships now, but I guess that since you said it's just a bridge right now that 'small' is a relative term.
Welcome back, and good luck on finishing that ship!

Of course we still remember you Spoot. Your ships have always been memorable, if for no other reason than the massive amounts of blue, and later orange.
About the bridge, it's not bad. The WF core looks a little odd to me, but I can't really complain since it's not finished. Anyway, I look forward to it's completion.
