Rotable core

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Rotable core

While working in the ED i think I accidentally found a way to rotate the core. I was in the edit tab of a section, and rotated it -20. Then, I hit M to mirror the ship, to check out how it looks. By habit, after M i hit ENTER and the effect you can see on the screen. Also, all of the edit tab options were available, thou I undo to quickly, and didn't check how toying with this affects game play.

It's intentional that the core is rotatable, don't worry. You can even resize and flip it like other sections.
Nifty ship, by the way.

I've been using resizing and flipping, but never knew how to rotate it. Now I wonder, is this the way to get access to all the normal sections edit tabs...

And thanks for the comment on the ship, I'll post it when I'm done with it ;D

You probably hit L on your keyboard (four times).

No, its not intentional, and no, you can't normally rotate the core. Its a bug, and it shouldnt happen. you're not supposed to rotate the core.

Nah, like I wrote, set the rotation of a section, hit M and then Enter

Would a ship with a rotated core be playable?

I don't know. Youd probably be able to load it and command around, but lots of stuff depends on the angle of the core, so it might behave funky.
