Shuna'dum Class (sb3)

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Shuna'dum Class (sb3)

Post by Veronw »

Well, with the new shipmaker released I figured I might as well post the single warship that has been the largest vessel I have ever had the pleasure of creating, as well as the most complex. It is sadly outdated now, so the weapons, armament, etc, are all inferior compared to new shipmaker standards.

Image

Little info on the ship as well:
This ship is smaller then the Vox Vocis class of Dreadnaught, but has a far more powerful series of weapons, and a greater amount of speed. This in part is due to the psionic nature of the Vardaen who pilot the massive ships with a crew of 24, the remainder of the vessel is automated and augmented to allow maximum control and coordination with minimal crew requirements.

It is equipped with 8 'grey matter' replicators. These devices create a null-matter which is neither true matter or anti-matter, giving it a 0 property in physics and when charged with the trans-dimensional energy used to power such ships, becomes a devestating force that easily negates the trans-phasic weaponry generally equipped on all Vardaen craft, and can penetrate through even the largest of ships.

It also comes with the typical Phasic and Torque batteries arrayed in strategic positions across the ship to give it 360 degrees of weapons coverage. A specially trained Vardaen on board utilizes the vessels artificial magnetic fields to manipulate matter nearby, giving the vessel the ability to stop a limited number of projectiles before they have a chance to strike the ship; however, the speciallist can easily become overwhelmed when there is a vast multitude of projectile weaponry and will be less effective.

It's pretty cool, though the screenshot looks terrible. Maybe you might want to take a higher res screenshot and link it.

I like the name... shaaana'duuuuummmmm

Looks a bit Mon Calamar'ish to me, and the screen should be bigger/higher res.

Great ship

Penis balloon, there, I said it.
But it does look like a covenant ship from Halo.
I lost my avatar because I made it too big.

A bit like a covie ship, yeah. Not bad, and nice fluff. Reminds me a bit of David Brin's uplift universe.

Heh, I was about to point out the various areas that could benefit from weapon-depthing, aegis effect rather than actual shield, and the like, then I remembered the thread title :P.

A bit of Covenant and a bit of Mon Cal, with your own touches; not bad.

I like it. Hard to tell the front and back, but it's pretty slick looking. You'll make sick shit with SMCE in no time.

I've read both Uplift trilogies and I still haven't seen a single illustration of a ship. But I recall the Streaker was supposed to be pretty bulbous.

@Cycerin; I meant that the fiction reminds me a bit of the uplift universe.

Reminds me of how the Tandu use an Episiarch (if the names are the same in the English version) for their probability drives.
