Lurker Ship
Well after years of keeping to myself and never ever posting anything I have finaly decided to post my best ship.
BackStory
I have yet to think up a good backstory exept that the Tasati are more of a Nomadic race who have grabed only a few mineral rich asteroids and the occational star.
Ships
Tasati Prime is my second largest ship yet this one looks alot better than the other one. This is going to be the mothership of my new race.
Frigates
This is the Hellfire Frigate AKA the "Suprise" because it looks as thought it
has only two machine guns yet when in range 50 missiles come flying out
to the target. It is made to be a Hit-N-Run ship because it can't stand
enemy fire for long.
This new ship is called the JackHammer, it is a direct fire support ship that
has four ver powerfull frontal cannons and two fighter destroying machine
guns. These ships usually travle in groups of three to become a fersome
fighting force.
I hope that the slight coloring to my new ships will add more depth and
the hiding of weopons will make it more realistic. I will be making more
ships for this faction but in the mean time all comments are welcome.

One bright day in the middle of the night,
two dead boys got up to fight,
back to back they faced each other
drew their swords and shoot each other...

It's good but the lack of a different color kills its immersion. Basically change your color of your ships to emphasis depth and we should have a winner.
Oh and use the 'W' key to layer your turrets, it helps to enhance your ship's looks

Great ship. The middle magma pit looks like it's meant to be used to throw people in it

The smaller ones looks a bit like ticks/parasites to me... in a good way

I don't have a problem with the colors, aside from some shades of grey might help. But some of the weapons could be better hidden like they are on your smaller ships, and the engines could really use some work so they are more definable as engines. Beyond that though it does look like a old hulking ship that spends most of its time in deep space. In any case amazing for someone new, so glad that you lurked.
I don't have a problem with all-gray ships most of the time, as long as there's sufficient contrast.
On a scale that large, though, your really need some variety. Perhaps start by just adding contrast to the ship with gray tones and then throw in splashes of colour where it seems appropriate. It doesn't need too much, but it does need something.
Weapon placement could also use a bit of work; shrinking, moving or depthing some of them would be a big plus.
The overall shape, though, is fantastic, particularly for a new member - the use of layered sun sprites is something else.

I agree, it could definitely do with some different shades of gray, and even some other colors here and there. But they should be very subtle colors, not bright red or anything. Idk if you used more than one shade of gray or not, but it definitely needs more contrast.Venator wrote:I don't have a problem with all-gray ships most of the time, as long as there's sufficient contrast.

On mules we find two legs behind
and two we find before.
We stand behind before we find
what those behind be for.
