Deltaflyer's (new) funhouse

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Deltaflyer's (new) funhouse

Post by Deltaflyer »

After the mostly fail-filled segment of time I spent on my last assorted thread, I wish to start anew with (hopefully) improved building skills.

The name of this ship shares the same name as that of the old Shift-tac fleet which ended my last thread. This is a revised version to go with this new version. New pieces, new weapons. Yep. New style for my ships.

So, I happily unveil my newest creation.

The Shift-tac Mandiable.

EDIT: with rear removed.

Chop the back segment off. :E
That big roud red thing is horribly glaring, and something says the ship'd look a lot nicer with just one set of wings.

So everything just in front of the rear twin beamers is to go or just the circle and rear wings?

Just try chopping it all off and we'll see where to go from there. ~.~

I like the organic spikiness of it, like an extremely magnified ant or something. But now you've chopped the rear off the centre looks too round and bulbous for me and the wings perhaps too far flung.

IMO the chopping greatly improved the overall look of the design.

And I agree, but in my opinion only I think the large round centre draws the eye too much now.

Personally I would extend and taper the rear, narrow the main body and cinch the wings closer in. Perhaps even rotate them futher forward and add small auxilliary winglets behind them sweeping back.

Then again that's down to the OP and how he envisages it.

Changelist so far from original:

- addition of fake aegis to complement and emphasise the spikes.
- Movement of wings, shortening of wings.
- Complete removal of rear section. Everything behind the bridge is gone.
- Redesign of bridge section, now it does not look like a big circle, more like a sleek deck raise.

The first two pics made me think "Stargate" the moment I noticed them.
Otherwise: Awesome.

The Assult Destroyer looks a bit fat imo, but all the others are great ships

Bumpitty bump. With the new Executor-class Experimental Exploration Ship. I have still got to finish all the coloring, doodads, weaponry and other stuff, but the basics and most important parts of the ship are now down.

Image

Feeding off a core made up of a miniture sun contained within a shield, and two back-up generators with roughly a quarter of the output each, this ship has, essentially, limitless energy.

The mini-sun is predicted to last 400,000 years, as long as the containment shields are operative, it will last this long.

The strange little bow-like pieces on the side are gigantic heat sinks, they actually generate air particles in an aura around them to absorb heat.

[OOC] The middle core is made up of 8 fraxy sprites, aegised, and a bubbleshield. Along with this is 8 Doo_Sparks.

I want this ship to be my 'Signature' Vessel, so I would like every last bit of advice people can give. Shape, Aestethics, the lot. Please critisize. (within reason, obviously.)

Thank you.[/OOC]
