Excessive use of Aegis is frowned upon if you're making a stock ship. Also, the hull design is somewhat unimaginative, but at least you've got the parenting down - many newbs don't know how to parent. Lurk around a bit more to see ideas for both stock ships and... bigger ships.

Lezzee...
Cut all aegis behind the two frontal sections,remove two of the particle guns(preferably the two closest to the center),and match the two Gat blasters more acurately.
Then you'll have a ok ship.
Next up you should play with the color scheme,maybe add or remove a few sections,keep playing with it until you are much more satisfied with the look.
Then you'll have a fine stock ship.

Let me explain why there are so many aegises: first of all, the ship has very little health and would get ownified without them.
second: i wanted to make a ship which involves some strategy to beat, like, targeting a specific part, rather than "point click pewpewpew lazor bemz olol ded"
the easily-destroyed un-aegised sections are what hold the aegises.
as for the "unimaginative design", yeah, i admit, i wasn't trying to make the most unique-looking ship in the world.

With the generators on the wings, the aegis won't make it absolutely wank. Parenting looks okay, not too much weapons, though the PD may be a bit excessive. Not bad for a starter.

I am rather impressed. You have made it evident that you put effort into making this ship something not to be ashamed of. I commend you on your forcing opponents to think strategically, something that has been o the decline as of late.

Aegis makes for an ugly ship. The ship is also very plain and uninteresting, add some more sections, spruce it up, expand a little. And finally welcome to the forums and atleast you seem to know what the bleeding hell parenting is for.

aegis aren't so bad if you change the glow color... I tend to change mine to black on occaision though... when it points out overlaps that should NOT be seen...

i came here from fraxy, if you make a ship with bad parenting in fraxy, well, let me explain this:
when a part gets destroyed in fraxy, it's parent also takes damage, and there's a maximum of children(16) per parent. so if you have 16 parts parented to a core, the core gets owned after destroying the parts and not even touching the core. (if the core isn't given 2385712hp like a lot of noobs do)

the ship has some stragecial purposes
but you forgot one thing :4 zelus can blast it as they jsut got to circle and shoot around it

the ultimate weapon?
take a kamikaze nuclear truck, put them in a ship, (nuclear kamikaze ship filled with mines); send it in the enemy lines and watch the firework >=p

The ability of a ship to destroy another is dependent entirely on your skills with micro. If you're good, a Zelus is a flying rape machine. If not, it might as well be used as a meatshield.
