Oh I like that. Smooth curves.

I think the 'drill' could be a bit longer as it seems like the 'prongs' on the sides of the ship could end up colliding into stuff. Or shorten those.

The drill isn't conically twisted enough.

UNLESS that drill is an impact drill, a la jackhammer rather than spinny bore.

In that case, proceed.

More importantly, How do you plan to have the drill cause damage? I see a driver in there, but driver shots are slow, and so wouldnt convey the true drill effect.
The way I would do it (not that I'm qualified) would be to put a beam weapon, probably a mining beam or scatter beam because they are small, and aim it facing backwards at the point of the drill. Then I would set its arc to the match the shape of the drill, ad add epic damage and continuous firing.
Alternately I might make it have a 1 degree arc but a deviation to match drill shape. I'll have to experiment.

UPDATE: Ship completed, drill completely redesigned

Doesn't sound like a bad idea. I'll try it out.

Crediting CT, you could use the "lawnmower weapon" with a small range along the length of the drill making it so that when the drill "hits" the enemy ship, it activates.

Its on the first page of the advanced weapon techniques thread.

laser lawnmowers are circles though, and wouldnt look great on a drill.
Circular saws, however...

This ship has remarkably improved. Especially the drill.

I'm loving the drill effect on this ship. The whole ship fits together nicely too. By the way, did you happen to name this after the Arahabaki in Naval Ops Commander?

the section 24 before the drill seems a little out of place with the rest of the ship
