Panzerschreck's random ships and minifleets

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Panzerschreck's random ships and minifleets

Post by The Panzerschreck »

ok, im trying with different styles, to see what fits me best and I don't feel like making entire fleets of 1 style. I'll update this topic if i create a new ship :P

first up, 2 of my most recent designs: the Panzerfaust Mercenary fleet. its a small fleet, to be consisting out of 5 ships. i have 2 done now. The flagship is gonna be the Panzerschreck :P

1) Panzerfaust 30

2) Panzerfaust 60

The ships are pretty nice, though I suggest you change up your design for heavier classes. I think your ships are a bit lacking in weapons, but I really like that transparent beam effect. How'd you do it?

He probly assigned 60 or 90 in the luminosity instead of the 120 Fullbright.

ummm no.. these are just standart beams (changed range etc..) but not luminosity. i just colored them the same as the bridge, so heck, they are normal beams :P

Teenage Mutant Ninja Spaceship Turtles!
I agree with ODST though. Your fleet would rapidly look bland if you keep the design the same in all of your ships.

Neat! A fairly solid design, though I do agree with other peoples sentiments that the design would look bland as part of a fleet if kept as is.

And if you don't mind me asking, how do you make that circular section in the center of the bridge?

Layering beamers with an alien core is... iffy though, although I like that blue booster glow and the "normal" beams.

ok, im working on the Panzerfaust 100, but im kinda stuck, its not good yet, and i don't know how to change the sidepots into a nice thing without deleting them completely, maybe i should though. I would like to hear your advises/critics!

If you're up to your wits about the engines, then I would suggest seeing if you can tweak the main body to suit the engines instead and see where that takes you.

To be more specific, the engine pods look like they were tacked on at the end as an afterthought. You can streamline the transition between main body and engine pod by excavating some crevices out of the main body that will serve to accept and fit the engine pods (you'll need to reposition the engines too, at least).

All in all, your ship building skills are solid; you got the technique. And here it seems that you're working on your style, this is good progression.

first off, very solid use of the outlining technique, and also good job on the main hull.

right now, the engine pods look far too fat. I'd also agree with squishy in that the hull could be more streamlined. at the very least, the struts should look like they could actually hold the engine pod without shearing off.

In short, either make the pods longer, or make them skinnier. I look forward to seeing more of this fleet.

at school, i came up with an idea, and this is the result;
how do you guys like this?

i see a little outline error, but that will be fixed :P (just before the right struts for the pods)
