Ok, well for the sake of Science I edited the backs of the wings to make them look less blocky. I'm now completely satisfied with it and as such will call it the final version.

Until I decide otherwise, all ships I make will be part of the navy of the Republic of Alesia (hence RAS). I'd make up some RP bio crap if I felt like it, but right now all I have regarding the Republic's identity is a flag:
So even if my style drastically changes (unlikely!), all these ships will be a part of the same nation and, more broadly, the same universe.

Don't worry, they hurt mine too.antisocialmunky wrote:I'm not sure why, but the awesomeness/something/whatever of your flag hurts my eyes when I look at it. And I mean physically - I think its those two white lines...
It looks better shrunken down. And probably as a physical flag too.

It's 2:1, which is the same proportion as the flag of the United Kingdom. It probably just looks longer 'cause of the bars; I think most simple flags like that are more around 3:2 or 5:3.FIREST0RM000 wrote:is it just me, or is the flag too long to be a normal flag. looks out of proportion a little bit. shouldn't be hard to crop a little though.
This is probably also a good time to mention that I consider myself a vexillographer (flag designer) and will occasionally design flags in my spare time; though usually the idea is that it'll be used so it's not like I'm just pumping out flags at a mile a minute only to have them sitting around on my hard drive or somethin'.

Oh and uh, about that RP bio crap...

Oh noes! You're right! :OSquishy wrote:Am I the only one making a connection between the two white lines on the flag and the two white beams that would emerge from that ship?
One hurts eyes, and one hurts ships.
I think this theme garners exploration.

Kiruna-class carrier. Obviously not finished. And yes, the sides are parented to those 21s and 5s. Should I have some aegis protecting the white sections, add more pieces, or just up the HP of the forward sections? It's supposed to just be fire support anyway; if it goes one-on-one with a battlecruiser with good point defense then it's pretty much toast.

See, this ship is quite schizophrenic. The inner layer looks coherent, but that's just because it's repetitive as hell, while the outer section is a horrible jumble of parts.
