Myffic Alliance founded

Hey guys out there I´ve come up with some new ships, which, I hope, are at least slightly balanced :lol:

First part is the Myffic Alliance, which is some sort of Rebel/Pirate Alliance consisting of several different races, which survived the "Pacification" of their worlds through the N´Chuk, an insectoid race under the reign of Empress Kaysa IV. The Myffic Alliance controlls a third of their homegalaxy (the part with asteroids and without colonizable planets), the other third is the N´Chuks territory.

Retribution
The Retribution was the first Chasis the founders of the alliance managed to get their hands on. They mounted as many cannons on as was possible.
This resulted in a pretty slow ship, with less maneuverability than a watermelon, but with 8 chainguns this ship is definitely not outgunned!

Starchaser
The Starchaser is a patrolcruiser with enourmus maneuverability and speed but is also quite nimble. It mounts 6 Flechette - anti - everything - cannons and two Chainguns of the newest fabrication.

Manta
One of the newer ships of the alliance is Manta - Missile - Destroyer. Equipped with fabrication devices the Manta would only run out of Amunition if it would fire non - stop, therefore it fires salvos of 1000 Drone controlled Missiles, which are, pitty for the constructor, not very effective, but as a swarm they can ripple whole ships apart. Because of the many factorys onboard the Manta cannot achieve that much speed as a cruiser normaly would. This handicap makes it a flying potato.

Wyrm
The Wyrm is built on the chasis of the Retribution. It has strong weaponbatterys on each side as well as 4 heavy Shipscannons. To distract pointdefenses the Wyrm has an diffusion device, because of this evolution in shipbuilding the N´Chuk actually lost one or two real Spacebattles.

Ragnarök
The number one battleship of the Allliance, one of the first ships that were equipped with the new beam technology, the Tech is therefore not fully developed and, in comparison, not very efficiently.

Chimaera
The Flagship of Gytta Ogg, the Leader of the Alliance. This ship is one of the biggest Carrier every built, able to maintain 12 whole Squads of Fightabombaazz in battle. The Chimaera is equipped with some of the most evolved and destructable tech the Alliance calls it´s own. For example some really nasty beams as well as anti ship torpedos, in fact the Chimaera carries despite the torpedos and fighters only Beams.

That´s it for now the two ships on the pics are the Illuminator, first Battleship with beam and the Gremlin, an Escort with a powerful Missilethrower more about these later. Comments and Suggestions are, as always, welcome. Thank you

I like ur ragnarok. You need to mesh the segments together a little more constuctively to make them look conjoined better

i do like the ships, but the balanced i have been building a balanced fleet but mine are balanced against the existing ships so i thought nice a fleet i can fight. im not sure what you balanced your fleet against but mine got destroyed almost straight away but i use stock weapons.

i think you need to make the weapons stock to balance it and prehaps lower the number of demeter launchers and less or maybe no nano matrixs and deflectors also i think you have too many weapons on most of your ships.

but then again you can balance you fleet to whatever you want, so fair doos.

my fav is the ragnarok its diffrent to most ships, maybe take the look of that and build a fleet round that as the flag ship. i see tons of people make ships like the chimaera.

the second ship the large hestia with spines i think you should make the spines shorter, also around the core looks abit thin you could add some thing to thicken it up slightly in a darker colour maybe so it looks like the core section is above it

the gremlin looks like my weapon test ship :S just bigger.

Ok, lets see, where to begin? Oh yes, first...*dim-maks hazelwooder* ships can be balanced to anything

All-Need more piece variation/custom color. With mine set to stock green, the ships look rather bile-ish

Starchaser- A good concept, and I like the general shape. Possibly, you may want the pulsar weapon's reload time might be set to be a tad longer. As well, and this goes for all of the ships with multiple nano-matrices, when the nano-matrix is used, it covers the ship in nothing more than a blur. Instead of multiple modules, you may want to try modding one to repair at an increased rate. And, you may want to lower the pulsar turn speed, they "convulse" when not in use.

Wyrm- The stern aegis-engine things, bleh. Weapon systems are good, the same thing with modding applies; to reduce the clutter, perhaps increase the damage done by each weapon. COLOR

Manta- I like this one over most of the others. A few more sections, a little coloring, and it's good. Turn rate is a little extreme, it gets jerky when in combat. The missiles get on my nerves, however, for one reason. Though they fire in swarms, seemingly with no reload time, their damage rating of ONE means that even any stock balanced ship with aegis or a few nano-matrices will barely be scratched.

Ragnarok- The shape is good, however the blur caused by the profusion of nano-matrices is EXTREME. In a full fight against multiple targets, the combined blur of the nano-matrices plus the glow of the large amounts of deflectors make this ship look like a smear on your monitor. As well, piece repetition is pretty bad, though the ablative side plates function nicely. The lack of a "central core" section(s) mean that if I punch through on a single piece near the core, that entire side of the bow blows off.

Chimera- Repetition, repetition, repetition. The glowing spire in the center can better be accomplished by using multiple pieces, and just stacking the aegis deflectors. Weapons systems aren't bad, but again, the repetition really detracts. And the same applies as with the others, Color

Retribution- A good little ship, even with being created out of only three or four section types. Works well in a fight, and with some color, would not be half bad, not at all. The hidden jewel, as far as functionality goes.

Hulk- That one, from the picture, looks pretty nice. Not in the DL, however, as well as the other two.

Pretty good, all in all, for some ships. Light years better than my 1st generation ships. Which are not on the forums, for they make your very soul bleed. Color is a must with these, and perhaps some tidying up, if you feel. The weapons, with the exception of the one damage swarm missiles, are pretty solid, and balance to these ships very nicely. Module use is ok, a little much on the shields, but the chimera's missiles punch through them on the smaller vessels, so that slightly balances things out. Nano-matrices are an eyesore, you may want to remedy them, too many.

Due to technical problems I had to delay an update of this article.

First I want do declare something: My ships are not stockbalanced, but - and that is my actual attempt in this project - at least a bit, altough I like to use heavily modified weapons. The Problem I have there is that nearly EVERY Ship with more than the average number of guns is exponentially stronger than the stockships without aegis. I therefore admire Hazelwooder, who builds stockships, because I seem to be not able to build that kind of ships.

Now for the changes I have done to the already posted ships
I changed the engines of the Chimaera as you can see in the pic, the Wyrm was changed in the same way.
I tuned down Manta turning from 5 to 3 and the damage of the Missiles to 5.

I have there a question: WHAT is the actual default repairing rate of Nanomatrices? Cause I don´t want to find it out the arbitrarily way by trying.
The suggestion of DeathsHand aiming coloring is, obviously, true, but I never got the hang of it and these ships are alot better than my first one.

Illuminator

This cruiser is the Forerunner to the Ragnarök - class Battleship. It was constructed when the first beamtech came to the alliance. But the core technology was not evolved enuogh to support that powerfull weapons and the engineers had to make a compromise, in the end the Illuminator had a high energy core at it´s center, as close as possible to the beamer, but on a very vulnerably spot. Even this way there is not enuogh energy to bring the beamers to optimum kill - efficiency.

Gremlin

The Gremlin is a heavy bomber corvette, which fields the sunslayer tropedo, a quite new invention. This torpedo is capable of destroying even heavy armoured ships of the N´Chuk and ripping their shielding apart.

That is the Myffic alliance, quotes and comments welcome as always.
