[backstory in the works]

What can be revealed at this point is that the Tal'Vorah are a fusion of cybernetics and organics created by beings long since gone.

Nice. It actually resembles the layout of an actual warship, and the color scheme is pretty good as well. Yellow doodads and aegis engines lend to it even more.

I love it. This is what I would make if I wasn't such a failure at making ships.

I really like the layering of your ship, those red sectors underneath creates a strong outline, good job.

Personally not sure about the effect of the red outline with that shade of grey - imo it looks pink in some places, particularly on the Tal'Shar where the oddset is less than on the smaller ships - and you've used outlining quite extensively, but as an effect I like outlining generally, so that's all cool.

Also personally I think there's too many doodads... for game-speed purposes each doodad counts the same as a full section or module, so you've pretty much doubled the processing required for your smaller ships and that will show in larger games.

Otherwise I like the limited number of weapons and their placement... too much pd? 32 particle guns is pretty hefty on the Tal'shar, but I guess you've modded them to fit.

Nice looking fleet so far.

Does the slow down still occur if the doodads are still(not animating), because i found that most of the doodads don't look quite right when animated anyway.

Also there are only 8 particle guns on the Tal'Shar, the rest are really small scatter beams. :P

The Battleship needz moar gunz. Not enough gunz...

Heh.

Pretty good, but either your battleship is overpowered, or your other ships are underpowered. :P

Darkship, i salute you sir. You constantly continue to impress. The last few contributions of yours (luytean order, enslavers) have been nothing short of excellent. Youve improved immensely since your arrival here and continue to do so. You are certainly one of the best shipbuilders in my book, and probably the best newcomer ever.

To comment on the ships themselves, theyre wonderfull, of course. Youve managed to establish a good looking, and more importantly - original style, despite using a common color scheme. An impressive feat indeed. Love how you used those yellow doodads, they really add alot depth. Temperate and thoughtful weapon usage is something to learn from. Definately worth continuing.

My only nitpick would be that the three ships look too much like just buildups. Its evident that youve started with Tal'Mun, expanded into Tal'Phar, and ended up with Tal'Shar, making a few changes here and there to the design on the way.

Please don't listen to this. Just because a ship has few guns doesn't mean its weak, and ive yet to see a case where adding more weapons made a ship better. In fact, i would suggest removing/replacing most modules, since their blue glow detracts from overall style.

Throw yourself into a furnace and burn. If you live somehow then I'll dump salt all over you.

Seriously the weapons on the ships are fine as they are. :|
