The UMC takes good care of it's vessels and employees. Over the past few centuries, it developed into a mining giant.
To compete with the other mining companies, it has created a guarding force for it's trusty Scarab miners. Details are listed below.
CIVILIAN SHIPS
The Scarab is a mining ship. It splits the ore-filled asteroids of the Ribos Rings in half, then flys inside the thing, drilling out every last bit of ore. Some Scarabs have been refitted to turn an asteroid into a bomb, just in case the other corporations came for their ore.
It has recently been outfitted with a gatling blaster due to the increase in competition.
The Scarab Hive is a large mining station, and it can hold two scarab mining craft. It repairs the Scarabs and unloads the ore they carry, emptying it into one of four stasis pods. It also has living quarters, should the pilots need rest. It has the ability to repair any ship so long as the ore required is inside. The Scarab Hive was built to survive severe Ion Storms by using it's shield generators, though they can be used to fend off attacks as well. It's Tractor Beams can grab a scarab from afar and force it to dock.
Escort Ships
The Mosquito is a fast-acting anti-station craft. It's Super Lasgun Cannons(SLCs) can cut through the thickest of starship armor. It's very unreliable against other fighters though, which is why the Dagger backs it up.
This is the Dagger Anti-Fighter Frigate. It's Scatter Cannons have little trouble dealing with enemy fighters, and the missiles destroy what the SC's cannot hit. It is nearly invulnerable to an attack from behind, and the Dagger usually covers the smaller, more numerous Mosquito fighters.
Most stations can destroy the Dagger, another reason to hide behind the Mosquitos.
