The Legion

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Probably drew one wing coming off the front, then did a second one at an angle behind that, then mirrored.

Very good concept and execution, I especially like the Symptom.

soooo prettty....

I know I get mad at people for not giving feedback, but for the theme, I can't see anything even remotely wrong with them.

I would like to see these in action myself as well.

Wow. I remember when some of these were released in SM2. This is a fabulous update, and congrats on making spotlight.

Looking forward to anything bigger, as always.

All the pics should be pointing towards bottom-left. (Synthesis is the easy one because of the Goslings.) ...I actually don't have a reason for why some of the ships are built backwards, but it's usually the small and utility ones and I'm sure I can come up with some excuse. :P

Don't let me monopolize the field. <_< I'm sure there've been others before me with ships that look like spacestations.

I actually don't remember how I figured out the right angles for the triangles, other then that the Vetala was the first ship I made like that. Old base I had uploaded, though it's SM2 so it's outdated now.

Downloads, no idea yet. Some of the ships still need tweaking, but I could just upload the finished ones, once I get back home anyway. They're a bit on the strong side, but you can cheese kill them with beam weapons all you like, hehe.

And thanks for the positive feedback. I'll see what I can do about action shots later, though I don't really have any rival ships to pit them against yet.

I would say you could use my ships for potshots, but I don't know how much different our stat use is.

Hmm... I downloaded your fleet and tried matching up ships, but our fleets use different power curves. Most of your ships use the same weapons, just more or less, so there's not much power diff between your frigate and dreadnought, while there's a huge power diff between my frigates and dreadnoughts.

Basically meaning, your small-medium ships wtfpwn my small-medium ships, while my larger ships do the same to your larger ships. <_<

A trio of Visionary Curse Interceptors open fire. They can engage from a much longer range then most comparably sized ships can, though they're vulnerable at short range:

The Opalescence defends a Solemn Voice from a long-range laser barrage. It may appear spammy with 3-4 spheres out at once, but they burn-out quickly:

Image

- - -

While a cruiser during a simulation put up two large shield walls against the Symptom, the Symptom's lasers constantly raked across the hull looking for exposed spots:

(I'll remove this if requested, but that was the ship of the closest power level I could find to the Symptom.)

Typical case of the bees, you've been suggested a heavy dosage of point beams:

Image

- - -

A demonstration of the battle situation in which the Solemn Voice excels, the trouble is getting one thta close with its poor movement speed:

Image

- - -

A Nonsense Codon recieves heavy damage from the superior firepower of an opponent. Even so, it was able to weather the assault long enough to correct its shielding and dispatch of the offending ship:

I need to readjust the drones, then I should be able to start putting some up for download.

I actually use variants of the same weapon, small ships typically have weaker variants "L" and "M" while big ships have "H" and "VH."

Now this looks cool. Interesting idea and well executed.
Gives a nice original feeling to it.

@Lizzie, Yeah, it does.

@Ixranin, I'm fine with you using my ships for action shots.

Non-broken Rorschach Pod Launchers?

It seems all the ones I add to ships in the editor just end up causing issues. Like never launching the pod and being unable to deselect the ship without using groups.
