MUCH less ambitious attempt, please criticize

First, I wish to apologize for offending your eyes with the Kratos. I eeded to know how poor my efforts at dreadnoughts would be. I do plan to slowly redesign the Kratos WITHOUT the Epic Fail, but you will be happy to know that's a long time off. That said, I feel that I should learn all you're willing to teach me about making smaller ships before I attempt any more monstrosities. To that extent, I have just created five smaller, less ambitious ships which I present for your disection. I can quite honestly say that concerning feedback, the more brutal the better. Also, concerning the Javelin, I know the sides are stretched, I just took my first destroyer and re-did the interior and weapons. Please tell me everything I'm doing wrong so I can fix it and make ships that are visually pleasing.
Top left to right: 301 Satsuma, 201 Sentinel
Bottom left to right: 702 Achilles, 703 Javelin, 701 Thesius
By the way, I forgot to add deflectors on the 702 and 703, so there are going to be 6-8 + 2 nanomatrix's in roughly the same place as on the Thesius. I'm just too busy to retake the photo

Huge improvement. These ships aren't too bad. You're making the fairly common newbie mistake of hiding the entire ship's hull beneath guns, though. You don't need to use quite so many of them, since guns can be modded to do more damage, or fire fast, etc. Still, it's a good effort, and much better than the Kratos.

For the 3 larger ones, you should try assembling them into a different shape. All 3 of those are a main body with two wing-like side-sections, and they're kind of boring (no offense meant). You might want to try using a color on the bridge that doesn't contrast so much with the ship, but I know that can be hard when the colors don't show up in game as they do in the editor.
EDIT: Anna covered the guns already.

Much better than the Kratos, thanks. Now just remove a few weapons and make the outline of the ships more interesting (by breaking up the long straight lines into shorter straight lines) and it'll be even better.

Yes, you'll find that ships never look like they need more weapons. It's how weaponsare placed that matters; see
this for a beautiful example of not needing many weapons, and
this whole thread for amazing weapon placement. Try applying the principles to your ships, and see if you can't think of some clever placing yourself

I have toned down the weapons, and this is the result. Also, regarding the bridge color and the design, I am finishing another hull to try to deal with that. Please tell me how the weapons are in the meantime.

I think the ship on the left, just a few weapons less and it's set. A little more on the other two but it's looking better.

I have reduced the weapons a bit more, and I am happy. Since you don't seem to be complaining about me spamming sections on the destroyers, I thought I'd try a slightly bigger, more spam-prone ship and see how it went. By slightly, I mean it's about the size of the Pegasus, which is still smaller than others on the forum. And yes I know the design's so old it's a classic, but I like the traditional look. At least the bridge is no longer bright red

. Weapons will be added later, but for now please tell me how spam-tastic it is or isn't.
I wish to thank Lizzie for posting the IVL ships, as they were useful when I was trying to figure out how to integrate the side engines. Also, is it possible to do a nice colorscheme with red, green, and blue? I would kind of like to, but I can't think of a way that might actually look nice.
EDIT: I have fixed the layering error at the front.

I know you guys are out there, I've seen responses at more ridiculous times than this. If you don't leave feedback I'm afraid I'll go more insane and start talking to myself twice as much.

That's the design I should've made my Constitution look like...
I like this one.

There you go. The shape is good. If I were you, I'd go in and change up the colors to bring out the edges and everything, but it's obvious that you're not done with it.
EDIT: I didn't mean to say that it looks unfinished or anything. I was just assuming you're going to put some weapons on it.

Really? I see a 19 hour gap between the last post and yours.
