TGE - ITN now released!

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

I'm liking your ships, there is elegance in simplicity i believe. As for the nose, why don't you make the frontal section longer? it might help, unless you have already tried it already.

Huzzah! A trip to the forums once again makes everything better. Behold!

Alright, so its not much difference, but it's where it counts, so now I'm quite pleased with the nose shape. While playtesting the older version, I realized why I probably had problems with the older shape: it looked too much like the IVL-Hades, with the nose narrowing in front. Now the only thing bugging me are the little winglets.
Hmm, probably only about 5 or 6 more ships, and the ITN fleet will be ready for release.

Excellently excellent. The winglets look fine to me. Good work.

Wow. I am impressed. That battleship and the station...they're just...beautiful...the depths, the effects, you even used the lining on the sections themselves to create shapes. Amazing.

A big thumbs up, pal!

Thanks AD, for being the only one to comment on that so far. Hopefully this next ship will get a few more comments.

Presenting, the Tor class Heavy Battleship:

Easily the biggest ship I've ever made, no matter how you count it (section count, load time, selection circle radius...). Hopefully I've cut out a lot of the clutter and repetition people were seeing on IRC, comments/criticisms?

I love the blockyness. Is there going to be a download of the third era ships?

I agree with the bolckyness. It looks very good and gives your ships their own unique style, good job!

I have to say, I love thise ships. They are truly amazing.
I like your blocky style and the glowing spheres.

Though what bugs me a bit is the mega tachy blurriness but thats just me.

I really like the nose on the cruiser - you planning to use it on any future ships? It's nice as a unique characteristic.

On the Tor Battleship I find the doodad spam annoying in the pic - it made me react the same as horrible weapon spam does, but perhaps ingame it's less of a problem. Personally I don't like the wide, blunt noses of your larger ships - not as characterful as the cruiser's style, and more clumbsy-looking than more generic designs, but really that's just an opinion thing. The Tor's internals look well designed, and I like the gradated engine glows... and the shiny blue eyes :)

Thanks for the compliments folks! :D

@Wicky: I've gotten rid of a bunch of the doodads since, as I realized that I had put more on than on my other ships, so it should be much less glow-y all over. Also, the reason I even bothered with doodads is because when they're set to default color, they work as team colors, meaning I don't have to work team-colored pieces into the ship. And I might try the Var's nose style on the Tor, and see if it looks any better or worse.
EDIT: Tried it out, and it got a big thumbs-down on IRC, so the Tor is staying the way it is.

@Hege: The megatachs are blurry because they've bee scaled down, cause otherwise they're just plain massive. I agree that they get out of my style of minimal stretching/rotating, so I tried playing around with different sizes, but I have to say that I'm going to stick with what I've got.

@Water_and_Wind: There'll be a download soon, just need to go over the ships again to double-check everything, and then I might make one more ship, but that can always be released later, so a download will probably pop up soon.
EDIT: Did I say soon? I meant it. download is here, or on the first page.

Wonderful use of lines and doodads. I approve muchly. Oh, and the aegised sections to create glows.

Awesome ships are awesome! Definitely unique, and they look Tau'ri (Stargate) to me.

An embodiment of elegant simplicity. Your ship designs are of a blocky yet pleasing look that I strive for in my own creations.

Now I see why where the elements of your minifleet come from.
