my ship

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Hi! Welcome to the community! 8)
Regarding your ship..
There is too much repetition.. It needs variety.
Also, do you know what Aegis Deflectors do?They're systems that generate a SHIELD around a section. should'nt the targeted section be further out?(unless the aegis was decorative.) Don't use to much aegis deflectors cause your ship will become an aegis whore(and thats not a good thing.)

as bld34 said, welcome! however, he is right about the repetition. also, try to avoid aegis. it kills fps and looks choppy.

Nice and spiky and lethal. I've no gripe with the aegis. I think the back end could do with some work though. And for weapons, I'd recommend a mixture of drivers and tachyons, spaced out throughout the ship.

Welcome to the forums also.

The Aegis on this ship seems well placed, although the back is a bit...empty. I suggest adding a few more weapons, and maybe toy around with the colours a bit. Quite good for a first try though.

Pretty much. The Aegis plating is... different, but to my mind it kind of spoils the appearance since the shielded plates overlay the normal ones. By that token, the nose looks good but the rear points are... messy.

Also, your weapons are somewhat over-stacked; consider spacing them out.

The basic hull has a nice shape to it, though.

i changed some of the the colors around a bit and added a few weapons in the aft section, so it looks better now but i go this why i tried to run a sandbox game with it.

ERROR in
action number 1
of Create Event
for object __newobject813:

In script nSec:
Error in code at line 29:
l_section[j].l_colour = global.colour[round((l_colour mod 1) * 10),argument7];

at position 73: Negative array index

can any one help with this?

You can't use pure black to colour sections, use (1,1,1) instead.
Office hours: 12:30-2:00 PST M-F, in #BSF.

ya click define custom colors or soemthing like that, and just raise it closer to gray so the numbers aren't 0,0,0.
Also for decoration try Boosters instead of Ageis.
For fine adjustment, select a piece and use shift+arrow keys to match up edges.
Good start!
