Custom Ships Archive #1

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Whoops, another one?!

I felt compelled to make a miniature version of the Executor, so here it is; the Eclipse!

Image

Yes, they're all named after Super Star Destroyers if you hadn't guessed. ;)

The Eclipse will be posted later alongside;

Executor
Executor Mark II
Sovereign
Sovereign Mark II

And maybe some smaller craft. How much smaller? I don't know. ;)

Barely recognizeable as the Hestia, this heavily modified prototype vessel sports the latest in advanced hardware and an experimental new guided missile system.

Image

Just something to tide y'all over and show off the new parts and weapons. It's somewhat overpowered I admit, but it's meant to be a silly prototype vessel. ;) If it were ever going into the game proper I'd tone it down.

SkarmoryThePG, in collaboration* with Arcalane, brings you the Salvaged Cargo Liner

Image

A pirate-ransacked and retrofitted version of Arcalane's excellent Heavy Cargo Liner, this ship packs some punch and is difficult to take down but has some rather glaring weaknesses. An excellent addition to any pirate** fleet.

Get yours here!

*collaboration may not be entirely voluntary
**Note: AI can't use two thirds of the specialised equipement. Oops.

No, Acclamator. Yup, that's right, another one rolling out in this pack!

Titan Shipyards - Multipack

Includes;

Acclamator-class Heavy Battleship
Eclipse-class Light Dreadnaught
Executor-class Dreadnaught
Executor Mark II-class Dreadnaught
Sovereign-class Super Dreadnaught
Sovereign Mark II-class Super Dreadnaught

;)

Blueprints and .shp files provided.

Ironically, the Iron Fist is or was actually an Executor-class. But the ships are named after the classes not all the ships of the same class.

...

Plus "Iron Fist" just sounds cheesy. ;)

A smaller entry this time - a Terran Battlecruiser (Ion) from the fairly old (now) game "Haegemonia: Legions of Iron". I didn't have much reference material to work with, but I'm pleased with it so far. Will upload after testing.

If you're planning on making any other ships based off it, I'd be happy to provide reference material (or rather, I'd be happy to have an excuse to play that again).

Please. I badly need more Terran Battlecruiser reference shots, as I fear I made it rather too short. If you can provide enough good reference shots of the other ships I might take a stab at making those, too! :)

Top down shots are best for BSF obviously, but any shots that get me an idea of the ship's armaments are good. I got the fighter bays for that BC off an old low-angle shot that revealed what looked like launch tubes on the underside.

If I get enough reference material to properly polish up the hull, I can start work on the variants - Proton (Blaster), Missile and Quantum (Tachyon) armaments. :)

Basically I started with the Ion as it was the easiest of the weapon types to emulate. The stock beamers have been upgraded to Ion Cannons, with very good coverage (180). The mid-wing megabeams, nestled slightly into the hull, are Ion Blasters, with extremely good coverage (360) but atrocious tracking (0.50). The Scatter Lasers are Ion Turrets, most have 180 degree coverage, and are stock damage/range. The demeter bays launch 10 drones in fairly quick succession, but take about 20 seconds to reload after - and will be the only "constant" feature between designs, not counting the generators. Finally, the center megabeams are Turbo Ion Blasters. They pump out an absolutely ridiculous amount of damage (roughly 25 per frame the beam is held on a section), but have very limited arcs of fire, terrible tracking, and take 50 seconds to recharge between shots.

The Missile BC will use a mix of missiles and plasma charges (torpedoes) with flaks, the Proton will use a mix of blasters and modded gatblasters with flaks, and the Quantum will use a mix of Drivers and Cannons with a Megatachyon as it's blaster weapon and particle guns for PD.

I decided the old Terran Battleship was far too small to properly emulate the detail required. So I made a HUEG one. This is probably one of my biggest ships so far. The lowest piece has a depth of 120.

Vizier-Class Attack Destroyer:
Image
Armed with Alien and Terran Technology, the Vizier is built to "Strip the enemy naked" before killing it. It's two Tri-Barreled Railguns do just that. Then, two blasters cover it while the Railguns reload.

ARMAMENT: 2x Particle Gun
2x Flak Gun
2x Tri-Barreled(3-Shot, 8sec reload) Railguns
2x Blaster Cannon
2x Sidewinder
Gosling Launcher
2x Deflectors

A more stock-oriented one, though it's another weapons-heavy design and is probably a little OTT;

The Erebus-class Dreadnaught

Image

The Erebus is slow and unwieldly, but undeniably brutal. Erebus, in Greek Mythology, was the God of Darkness and Shadow - the Erebus' shadow is not something you want to be caught under. The Erebus' massive broadside firepower comes at a cost; whilst it's front approach is heavily defended, it's offensive measures are poor, and it's rear arc is almost entirely undefended. Given the sluggish nature of this bruiser, this weak point can be exploited, assuming one makes it past the gun-packed broadsides.

Don't mind the odd 'sight' on the turrets, there's nothing I can do with that, and I think it's a bug to do with cloning weapons during the ship making phase. It seems to be random every time I spawn a new one in with cloning, so who knows what it is. Think of it as having gunners who shoot with different hands, or something. :P

Heya guys.
This is my first post, and my first ship. Hope you like it. I kinda screwed up because I built it in just one direction, and then noticed you can't move the core :p Well, live and learn I guess.

Anyway, it's a huge Broadside Battleship called Bastion, can take quite a pounding if you position it well and rotate it to spread the damage around. If you lose the gattling armor plate on either side, react quickly.

Have fun and please comment.
