Master Sun fleet, added Titan 6/14/08

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Master Sun fleet, added Titan 6/14/08

Post by jwa8402 »

*From the personal log of the Emperor himself*
The military has recovered more quickly than we hoped. Though their new vessels are little more than cobbled together shadows of the Spartan fleet, they maybe enough to slow us when we make our move, at least until our new flagship can arrive. To that end I have ordered further reverse engineering of the captured fleet to build a fast attack destroyer. A shame the captured vessels require so many crew members or else we could use their own fleet against them. Still, the Asaini destroyer will be more than a match for their current ships.

*From the personal log of the Emperor himself*
My very bones itch from hiding in this wasteland for so many years. Still, though the men rebel and our coffers shrink from lack of pillaging, our patience has paid off. Even as the enemy designed their finest war machines, they grew lazy and over confident. They have no idea who pilfered their precious Spartan fleet!

It was a simple matter of bribing enough guards and scientists to insert our own command codes, though I did make it seem harder than it needed to be; can't be seen taking jobs that are too easy! Still it required true planning to predict the need to resurrect the original reserve fleet, and thus insert the codes while they were still in mothballs.

Today I visited the southern shipyard to see the fruits of our labor. With technology taken directly from the captured fleet, this vessel will be more powerful than even the prototype titan class we captured.

They come from the outer rim, an empire which started in the hands of pirates and grew into a force surpassing the best the military has to offer. Although so far we have held them back with numbers alone, it is obvious they have yet to commit any real assets to the attack. When they do, Command fears no amount of ships will stand against them, for they fight with the bloodthirst of pirates and the discipline of Sun Tzu.
Unfinished Rebellions. The scorch marks and pieces of hull stuck in its armor are a testament to the staying power of the empire. To fight this flagship is considered an honor because if means you gathered a respectable force and used it well, however pointlessly. It is also a taunt in steel towards those who would dream of rising above their place in life without being willing to commit all to the cause. Originally a border station hijacked by the pirates, it was extensively modified to become a mobile arsenal. Against the alien dreadnought it does ok, although the battle lasted around ten minutes, so the weapons are obviously not modified, except for some range and ascetics. As I said I don't think it is overpowered against ships of its class but let me know what you think about the armament, or even the design. I tried not to strech stuff cept for the one obvious spot and thats because I wanted a uninterupted runway because yes, I follow wing commander laws of physics in space. I plan to cover parts of it to fix that though.

Sinanju class destroyer
This is designed as a fast intercept destroyer, able to mow down small opponents or soften up capitol ships before the fleet even has to engage. Although it has three or four times the armarment of a typical Hestia destroyer, its weapons are all low yeild to meet energy requirements. Armaments include pulse lasers and flechette missiles. It has a potent emergency measure which only a desperate pilot will figure out, AI cannot.Coloring is meant to be blood red, trying to fix.
Image
Bolo class cruiser
This is a long range bombardment vessel designed to punch through armor and shields of stations capitol ships and outposts with or without smaller vessels to soften up spots. Its weapons are slow to track smaller vessls which may flank it, though it is very heavily shielded. Not intended to directly engage for long periods except to provide the killing blow. Coloring is meant to be camo, will fix main colors then add the spots to it. *edit* fixed the stretching but still have to upload new screen.
Image
Narcissus combat cruiser
A fearsome opponent at close or long range, this cruiser is designed to combat all levels of foes, from fighters up to even dreadnoughts. Its multiple decks hold a staggering amount of firepower but with varying arcs to provide full coverage. This means in a head to head fight it is not able to bring its full firepower to bear on one target. In most cases, it doesn't need to.

The Sinanju is nice(reminds me of the Enyo...)
What the 'special feature' it has???(I guess kamikaze)
Also, It seems that the Bolo doesn't have much weaponry...why?

The Sinanju looks nice but the section stretching on the Bolo is a bit much.

Ooooh, I know! The particle cannon is modded? And to get the colours fixed, you need to change the ship glow color to white or black, under BSF options.

*bump for new ship*
Sorry bout the cheap shipyard, got interrupted so I didn't get to finish it. The ship is deliberately incomplete in the photo but please give some criticism so I can make it better.
My other thread has almost 1000 views but almost no comments so I figured maybe I'm doing something wrong and should head in a different direction. Please give feedback.

At least its more colorful than what you normally do...be careful of the repetition. That head gives it a dragonish feel, could almost put wings on it. Are you gonna do the tiny weapons on this one? I tried that but it killed my computer having that many weapons.
I like unfinished rebellions, very sexy

Got an urge to try this design, but ran out of time so its rather small and simple...

Yes, some of the weapons will be small like on the spartan fleet, but not all. I tried to break up the repetition, and will post a screen shot later. My internet is barely working right now.

This is a Glorious day! My new flagship has been released from dock for its test runs, and the word has been spread to the men that the pillaging can begin once more! The only delay has been the flight deck modules, which have not been finished yet. Even without fighters, and with the stock weapons we were forced to use in order to fill the sheer number of weapon ports, this vessel is proving more than capable of overwhelming even Aegis equipped vehicles.

Too much repetition...
Too much repetition...

It's better than some ships around here, but still, please se more than one section when making your ships. :?

using repetition for the curve is acceptable, however, filling in the center with tons of section 22's isn't. Use section 4's in the middle too and it'll be fine.
