My ship crashes on me, joy

Tried putting this ship into the sandbox, and this is what I just happen to come across by:

ERROR in
action number 1
of Create Event
for object __newobject791:

In script nSec:
Error in code at line 29:
l_section[j].l_colour = global.colour[round((l_colour mod 1) * 10),argument7];

at position 73: Negative array index

Not to mention that I can't even upload this thing into the ship database. The computers are playing mind tricks on me or I don't know what:
"Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '{' in /home/tropica/public_html/wyrdysm/battleshipsforever/shipdatabase/upload.php on line 44"

This ship was made and also 'tried' to be played on the latest versions of BSF. I really, really, want to get this ship working or otherwise I wouldn't have asked for help. Tell me solutions before my brain implodes.

I don't know if this is the problem, but...

Sections with a custom color of 0,0,0 don't work for me. Is that one there, on the right arm? If so, it could be the problem.

EDIT - oh, and the database has been down for a bit. Donna worry about it, it's not just you.

I have a 0,0,0 section on one of my ships, that could be whats bugging it up...

Your accel is a bit high. You might want to lower that

Anyways back on topic. Try resetting all the colours back to normal. I think something like that may be your problem.

Also database is on the blink right now so its not working.

Like the others said, check your colors. I would bet it's that black section. The game won't let me use an absolute black section either. :?

Yes, setting any section to pure black will make the engine yell at you.

Just set the colour to 1, 1, 1 and I guess it's close enough to black...without having BSF screw up on you.

Well, that worked, although the colors didn't turn up quite right...

Next problem, how do you make it so that when it's firing at an enemy it twirls around instead of just standing there firing its shit? My other cores with stations tend to twirl, but this one doesn't.

I'm suspecting it's the speed and the accelerations fault. Well, time to hammer it again methinks.

Accel = 0
Maxspeed = 0.01
Turn = whatever

Accel = 0
Maxspeed = 0.01
Turn = whatever

good to go. :D
Max speed doesn't matter either just as long as the acceleration is zero. If you can't accelerate you can't really reach any "maximum speed" other than zero. :P

What if your ship gets blown away and has no accel but high speed, so it gets knocked away at its max speed, hits the wall, and continues bouncing around forever with no acceleration to stop it? Besides, the Game won't let you set maxspeed to 0 anyway.

Hmmn, nope.

What you're saying makes sense and that's sort of what happens with fast ships that have low acceleration. A section blows off and they go flying but with a station it just continues to spin. Even if you give a speed of 7 and you blow a section off you'd think if it were like a ship it would fly away at a speed of 7 but it just sits there spinning around. It must just be how the game engine works. Once it spins the station can't drift away or be knocked from its position.

Not that I've tested it . . . so how did we get on this subject anyway? Oh yes, you said maxspeed didn't matter . . . no, I guess it doesn't. But it helps you remember that it is, in fact, a station anyway.
