New ship! It's not the Iskander-class Carrier, unfortunately, since I've been having trouble deciding how to arm it, still.
Instead, here's the X08 Siegfried-class Battleship. This ship delivers heavy forward firepower, but only has two heavy flak cannons with which to defend the rest of it. Against larger ships, the Siegfried will often come out on top, but a small group of two or three Enkidu-class Frigates or Caladbolg-class Destroyers are capable of bringing it down.
Download the Siegfried.

This ship gives me enough evidence that I need to work on my Equalizers more. (Took it out in one shot... ) It's a good looking ship and that Driver deals massive damage
Still can't wait for the Iskander.

Okay, I'm not even going to get into the argument on the colour-scheming of ships. I prefer to use the default three, and then if I feel like adding extra colours, I do so. On some ships, such as the Progenitor Mk. II and the Trance Gemini Mk. II, I give them their own dedicated colourschemes, but usually I prefer a variable one, and it makes the whole process a lot fuckin simpler.ArcaneDude wrote:Then how do you explain the fact that the Richard Wagner (you know, the space-organ) was made in about...twenty minutes? 30?
But I need to call bullshit on this statement right here. Between your first WIP shot of the SECOND incarnation of the Richard Wagner, and the posting of the final product, FIVE DAYS PASSED. You posted another WIP shot during that time. You have a very loose definition of 20-30 minutes.
Thanks, Spoot. I'll try and finish arming the Iskander tomorrow...Spoot Knight wrote:This ship gives me enough evidence that I need to work on my Equalizers more. (Took it out in one shot... ) It's a good looking ship and that Driver deals massive damage

Siber and Lizzie had some complaints about the forward structure of the Siegfried, so I thought I'd fix 'em up. Anyway, here's a pic and download for the updated Siegfried-class Battleship. .sb3 file included.

There's a minor outlining/mirror fail at the bottom base of the cannon.

He probably only spent 20-30 minutes actually working on it...Anna wrote:Between your first WIP shot of the SECOND incarnation of the Richard Wagner, and the posting of the final product, FIVE DAYS PASSED. You know, there's a difeerence between building, and the process of arming, testing, tweaking, taking and editing screenshots and finally, uploading.

Great job on the Siegfried Anna. I particularly like the engine design: for some reason it really appeals to me. Although I'm sure you hear this every other post, I would just like to say: Frickin beautiful work on the ships, keep up the God-Like work!
And yes, this may seem like I'm kissing up to you Anna, but those comments were made in all honesty.

No, wait, go back! Why are there six pedals if there are only four directions?

Short news update:
I scrapped the Iskander almost entirely and started work on a completely new version, because I was unhappy with the old one. There are very few similarities between the old and the new, except for the name and the class.
I'll have a picture for you guys tomorrow, after I've gotten some sleep.

Well, it's done. The X16 Iskander-class Supercarrier has been launched into service. The design changed dramatically since the original proposed design, apparently due to a flaw found in the structural integrity of the hull, and complaints about the fighter bays being cramped and difficult to maneuver it. Concerns were also raised over the exposed and quite volatile generators.
So, the Iskander was rebuild from scratch, as Orbital Industries prides itself on making the best ships they can.
Download the Iskander.

How many bees does that monstrosity spawn?
Niiiice. Way better than the old design. Although I find the fact that the flak isn't placed on specially placed sections a bit sloppy.

One-hundred and sixty attack drones and twenty heavy bomber drones, every ten seconds.ArcaneDude wrote:How many bees does that monstrosity spawn?
Thanks. I like it quite a bit better too. And, yeah... it may be a little sloppy, but usually I don't worry too much about placing point defense in any special way, unless there are already pre-existing spots which I think they will look good on.ArcaneDude wrote:Niiiice. The Siegfried is nice though super beam cannon ships aren't my thing; might rotate the thrusters though if your gonna stick them on engines that nice
The super carrier I like alot better, especially with the red accents. Makes it look semi-organic in a Babylon 5ish way. Nice to see a carrier that still looks like a warship but omfg the bees! is the front section, between the 20s the runway? I assume it has to be escorted since it doesn't have much secondary armament...
