The Ships of Seraphim Industries - Last Updated 12/23/07

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Well, it isn't that bad. It gives a sort of "custom" feel though, so I say it'll work.

Sorry, not enough time to write story today. Math League then Piano. But I've got the idea swimming around in my head...

Well that (the Arcueid) is possibly the coolest looking ship ever ... I have a thing for smaller ships. The huge ones are nice and all, but seeing the detail without having to zoom in and pause the game is nice :D.

Anyways, tacticaly : how well does that fair against lasers ? Those parts holding on to either 'cannons' seem rather exposed.
The preferred outcome of war, is peace. Ironic; huh ? -[citation needed]

Despite appearances, the Arcueid's heavy-blaster-cannon is rather solid and difficult to blast off, although not impossible. The shock-beamer cannon on the right wing, however, is vulnerable if the side armour is blown off, or so I have discovered.

Glad you liked my ship. :D

The Arcueid is my favourite ship. I love asymmetrical ships!

It's really tricky to pull off an asymmertrical ship and not make it look like crap in the process, but if you do manage to do it, you usually end up with something that looks pretty damn sweet.

I'm going to have to try my hand at making another one, some time... although I doubt I'll be able to make another ship on par with the Arcueid. I surprised even myself with that one.

Well really as of right now, the backstory for the Seraphim Industry campaign is completely done. All that is needed to be done now is the story.

However, I am currently suffering from a major case of writer's block. I know I said I had an idea earlier but I just couldn't advance on it. So, I'm asking you, the public, to help me out! Basically the whole plan goes this way:

WARNING: Spoiler Alert! Same rules apply as last time

Since backstory ends with Aradel, we begin with Aradel
Aradel is famous war hero, etc...
You know, mercenary groups etc...
Until the suspected leader is rounded up by a different force, Aradel fuming...
Attacks keep happening...
Turns out it's deeper than that...
Enter Epitath Seraphim, in his decked-out ship, the Arcueid
Sent out on patrol to edge of unstable nebula (spoiler in a spoiler, it's not unstable because it formed that way...),
Strange pulses of energy emanate.
You decide to search further, even though commander calls you back.
Strange portal found, warps him to future...
Enter Aradel Seraphim, again.
Company ship reports damage moving through an uncharted nebula, far off in the middle of nowhere, energy pulse of some sort. Big one.
Aradel decides to investigate himself, lest govt. agents find out.
Epitath found unconscious inside ship, only one alive, crew dead.
Arcueid turns out to be lost design of Seraphim, lost in a "training accident", along with Epitath (yes I know, it's cliche, but hey, who cares?)
Reconnecting, when energy pulse comes and blocks out radar, mercenary group attacks.
After defeating them, a closer examination reveals the craft were unpiloted...
Mystery is on hand!
Enter Corinithus.
In his office, communicating with unknown being (Blobby brain ship).
Unknown being gets mad, kills Corinithus.
Replaced by Corinithus look-alike
(To be continued)

Every time you write something new, it just gets even more awesome. :D It's fairly different from my backstory for Seraphim Industries, which I'll put up at a later date, but that doesn't matter. This is your thing, and it's bloody brilliant.

Keep up the excellent work.

Also, here's the "Part One" of the Ascendancy, as you requested. It's a "work in progress", literally. It has no weapons, and it has 0 accel, 0 speed, and 0 turning, as the ship's sub-light and ftl engines have not yet been constructed fully. This is what you wanted, right? Several versions of the Ascendancy in different stages of construction?

Another new ship!

It's my most ridiculously powerful ship to date, and it isn't much bigger than the Arcueid, in terms of size. The Scion of Destruction is Seraphim Industries secret weapon, a long-range, small and maneuverable ship, with a new and advanced shielding system, and a large Photonic Cannon, capable of laying waste to entire planets in seconds.

Image
Download the Scion of Destruction.

Bonus Feature:

The Viscount and the Scion of Destruction decide to meet for coffee, and to exchange databases, or whatever it is that sentient ships do.

Image
The Viscount has a strange way of saying hello. But that's okay;

Image
Because the Scion of Destruction offers a rather unique greeting of its own.

Cool use of railguns. You're awesome yourself you know ^.^

And that's (almost) exactly what I thought the Ascendancy would look like. But I can't blame you, the perfect ship in my mind is a combination of my 8 years experience playing and watching space based forms of entertainment, from ogling at EVE Online (due to my lack of personal funds), watching the History Channel a bit too much, etc...

And I've already come up with a nice implementation of the Scion of Destruction:

I put it in normal color because there's not really much storyline elements, minus the spoiler stickers.

*blah blah blah, storyline storyline storyline*
"Do you think we can take it out, the
Spoiler!
with my old ship? She's getting pretty old."
"You won't need to,
Spoiler!
."
Spoiler!
gives
Spoiler!
a confused look.
"Oh, you haven't heard. While you were
Spoiler!
, I had our scientists redesign the
Spoiler!
"
"What!?! You touched my ship without my permission!?!"
"Calm down, I think you'll like it..."

You know, you can pretty much figure out half of the spoilers, come to think of it.

And yet I get little to no love(visible love anyways. I mean, c'mon, I have almost as many views on my topic as Anna, but most of the posts are my updates.)

Also, you may wonder why I'm always using ther same core piece. Part of that will be revealed as I add in ship descriptions.

And as a bonus, I'll be releasing 3 new ships as soon as I'm done with all that.

Thanks guys, I'm glad you like my ships. I put a lot of effort into them... they're like... they're like my babies.

Excellent... I'm begin work on Part Two shortly. I'm having some problems making the blobby brain ship, though. :? I think it's too different from my standard design, 'cause every time I try to make it, it ends up looking god damn fugly...
