Your style varies a lot throughout most of the ships. I don't quite like that. They also look like they were made by placing a layer on top of another on top of another (sort of like some cakes).

I don't want to sound rude in any way, but I will both agree and disagree with you. The style variation was part of my design plan. The fact that you couldn't predict what the next ship looked like kept every ship new, but at the same time I wanted the fleet to look like it was built by many different species working together. If four species worked on the same thing, they would all come up with different ideas right?
The "cake" like look is one of the few things that is apparent in the entire fleet. It and a few other things, (not including the colors) are common throughout the whole fleet, these are just very subtle and hard to distinguish. Also, the design characteristics change slightly over the time each ship was built so of course they won't look the same. I didn't know variety was bad. Anyways, the next fleet up will have a very strict design with not much variety present. You'll probably like it better.
