the ship is now armored, i applied color to the front, and added a couple of maneuvering thrusters here and there... I also alpha'd the red lines to try and make it look like a paint job...

The bit behind the front, needs more adding to it, as it looks too thin compared to the rest.

IT'S UGLY!
Come on you can't outline round things with square bars. It just looks bad.
Too much it ruined the ship for me.

Hmm. This ship is overall... not terribly good. The revisions are a step the right way but... eh. My vote goes to 'scrap it, try a new ship'.

hafta agree with marteen here. that section looks excellent on teh black pieces, but not on the blue sections. remove them from teh blue sections.

Just looked at it very carefully, and I think that it's overgunned. Not a problem on it's own but; The guns are also placed at stupid points, they break some of the ships lines.

And where the hell do you need abladtive armor over your engines?
You can also give the thrusters 0 Alpha to make then invisible, you know.

Maybe because the engines move the ship?
One of three important things on a battleship?

i don't think any sane ship designer would leave their engines unprotected, because if you lose em, your dead

anyways, the ablative armor is a bit overused, try using different sections or some bigger ones, it breaks the repetition.

My point was that it was over the engines so it would only protect the ship when the engines were already down. Any sane shipdesigner would not want to think about that.

I would have to mimic what the others are saying about the ablative armour. The way it follows the outline of the ship is fairly awkward, and it overlaps the ship sections in several areas.

If I were using ablative armour, I would use it sparingly, and would also avoid spamming the same section too much.
