The Fleet of the Luytean Order

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

moving on, the gap-less version of the Messiah is complete! dubbed the Prophet. Ok here is where i really want the criticism, firstly i got the impression that there aren't enough guns on the frontal section, though that could very well just be me, the railguns are modded so in terms of power i think they are good enough. (they don't destroy any of the Order's ships in one hit.)

Prophet
Image
The Prophet is offshoot design of the Messiah class of vessels. Because the materials needed to build and maintain the Order's beam weapons are scarce, the Prophet goes conventional and uses RailCannons to deal massive damage to enemy ships. While the dense and heavy projectiles of the RailCannons defeat multiple layers of armor and weapons, standard blast cannons and anti-ship warheads obliterate outside armor. With these weapons, the Prophet is capable of destroy any vessel, from within or without. Two Prophet Class ships are currently in service, The Magnus leading the Second Fleet in intelligence gathering missions into Enslaver Space and The Primus leading the third fleet in ongoing resource acquisition missions.

OK go critique! I would like answers to the nagging issue i mentioned earlier in my post.

The nose looks a bit thin, and there is no variation in the thickness.

I changed the nose area of the ship so that there is some variation to its profile. The additional space also allowed me to address the problem i had earlier by adding more cannons to the side. As for the thin-ness of the nose, i think the section 26 bulked it up quite nicely.

What does the community think i wonder :?:

I love it. Perhaps the nose is still on the thin side, but it's a fine-looking ship.

You mentioned that the rails were damage modded - does that mean the rest are stock?

oh no, when i said that i meant to imply that the railcannons were the main damaging weapons on the prophet and thus already really powerful (actually in hindsight they probably aren't powerful enough ), sorry if that was not clear enough. The rest of the weapons on the ship are modded.

Darkship, all of the ships that you've constructed are putting mine to shame. Very well done. And looking forward to some more. :D

More did you say?! OK i have yet another ship to share, the Deity (name pending, seriously i can't think of an appropriate name for this ship) is the Juggernaut of the Luytean Fleet. It is probably the most powerful ship in the fleet (which in my mind makes it OMFGBBQ overpoweredzorss!!!11 ). The beam cannon setup, i took the idea from several places, but mainly from Lizzie's Hades, so thanks to her for that. :!:

But enough words time for pics.

Deity

Image

The Deity, the largest ship in our fleet, mounting a miniaturized version of the main beam cannon on the ArchDeacon can now deal death in several directions at once. The Deity with its significantly larger reactors has the capability to utilize two of these awesome cannons at once making it a most fearsome vessel. In addition to this new weapon system, the Deity packs the ubiquitous circular blast cannons, standard beam broadsides and missile tubes. The Deity is currently still in trial runs and thus has not been cleared for open deployment. However when the Deity is at last sortied, it is certain that whatever enemy it faces will not live to tell the tale.

note: This ship is essentially an expansion of the previous prophet base. i guess i should stop expanding existing frames and try building new ones :!:

haha thank you everyone for the comments, but are there any problems? like major muck ups.

I do plan on releasing this fleet sometime in the future (don't ask when) but only after i fix the balancing and make another carrier class, and perhaps redo the fighters and bombers (seriously they are pretty crap i think.)

On that note can anyone give me some pointers on how to make fighters and bombers act as such? Mine only fly really fast and stick to the target ship. (i.e. staying in one spot)
