Col.Jason's 1st proper ship

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Swamp Fox, by "balanced" i mean the stock ships like Athena and Cronus. This is the generally accepted idea, and i just finished reading Stryder's "Beginner's Guide to BF", which states
Some players enjoy making ships that are approximately the same size and strength as the ships that come with the game. These are often referred to as 'balanced ships'.
my bad if i didn't make that clear. No need to call me an idiot  I'm also assuming that the flak cannons were unmodded, to which i was right.
its a good thing he changed it though to make the 18 flaks more fair.

And yes, the new version is certainly very phallic.

indeed, perhaps the rounded front is a bit... strange... to me the back looks better tho, so i will revert the front...

here, added two orange thrusters to the front....

before anything else is changed, I would fix it so its not the same section used over and over. There are better ways to get uniformity, like a varity of hull sections then armor(steampunk works well) over the outer edge. Taking out the repetition will at lleast slightly alter the hull shape so everything else(colors, weapons placement, etc) ould have to be redone anyway.

Also, phallic is simply a practical shape for spaceships. Not the only one, but its silly to criticize it if its a good design. Although in this case I would widen the head to a shield type shape and beef up the back with engines.

the colors are certainly much better than before, but IMO still rather.... yucky. But then again, that's just my personal opinion.

red simply clashes with the blue. however, the yellow + blue or the yellow + red is fine.

hmm lot's of engines under the curved rear parts?

if so, i like that idea, and as for the armor, i was thinking that anyways, thx for the suggested section :)

as for the colors, i should probably try blending the blue and red, but i don't know how :( best learn that the old fashioned way of trial and error...

I have decided to call it the Prometheus Class BattleCruiser...

I have tinkered about with other designs of mine, and created a few other ships, after this one is perfected(if it ever can be lol) I will add them to a new topic for my Fleet which i haven't named yet...

here are names, they are in size order(biggest down to lowest):
Prometheus Class BattleCruiser
Scipia Class Light Frigate-twin autocannon, 2x machine gun, 4x Flak
Raptor Class Light Frigate-2x auto cannon, 2x machine gun, 4x flak
Falcon Class Torpedo Ship-Rapid Fire Torpedo, 2x machine gun, 2x Flak
Hunter Class Escort Cruiser-2x auto cannon, 2x machine gun, 2x flak

i myself am no expert shipbuilder but i wanted to say something about your colours red, yellow, turquise and grey are going to be extremely hard to get to look good together. perhaps you might want to consider removing one of them to replace it with a colour that better compliments the others.

You should get rid of the yellow. Make it a light gray. Get rid of the flak guns on the turquoise sections. You should also get rid of a few Kae_sec02's. They look way over-spammed.

What if you alpha'd the red lines a bit so it ends up looking like a paintjob?

the front looks kinda bland... maybe you could color it too? just a suggestion. Your engines and weapons look rediculously over-spammed on the back end if you asked me, to the point that it's confusing on the other hand you did a great job concealing some of the weapons on the middle sections, I'd like to see more of that.
on the whole though it looks pretty good and the ship improves with every change. Keep it up

I'm new at this, but maybe try to make the turrets a light gray so as to compliment the gray without causing color pop. Keep up the good work the ship looks a whole lot better than it did at first.
