I believe Coriolis was referring to a general form that is based off the cultural aspects of the race/empire that constructed it. For example: An empire with an industrial/grinding culture would produce ships of a blocky and solid feel and maintain that similar form with all of its vessels or at least a form that when compared to ships of the same origin the view can say "Oh, they are of the same faction." It would then be difficult to look at a smooth and organic shaped ship and then believe that it was built by the same faction. Under those premises I too agree with Coriolis that there is a lack of significant similarities in form. There are similarities with some ships(ie: The two fighters, ie: The Bomber and Frigate.) but I feel that they are not enough to represent a mutual factional style.
As for suggestions for thrusters, I have been experimenting with using faux aegis as engine glows for excess rear sections I mount. I am still working on those so I don't have an example. I believe I saw some ships with some fancy thruster effects. You could try that.

I see what he means now, Ill be working on that. And I will also start blocking the core's blue dot. But the only thing I can't do that on is the fighters, as their core is supposed to be exposed so they are vulnerable to attacksWind Tempest wrote:I believe Coriolis was referring to a general form that is based off the cultural aspects of the race/empire that constructed it. I know I haven't posted for a while, I'm having computer problems which hopefully will be fixed within the weekend. I had gotten a trojan which is quarantined at this moment, but oddly still causing me problems. I am almost finished with a non-obsolete CA (Heavy Cruiser). Here are the class designations for my ships going from weakest ships to strongest ships:
FF-Frigate
DD-Destroyer
CL-Light Cruiser
CA-Heavy Cruiser
SS-Submarine (mainly torpedo armaments)
BC-Battle Cruiser
BB-Battleship
CV-Aircraft Carrier (Heals fighters and other ships/launches drones)
I will hopefully be on this weekend.
