The color scheme nor the shape really scream Phoenix. The outlining is done fairly well though. One thing is kinda irritating though:

Name is changed now.I agree that the name's not very fitting, though.
It's definitely influenced by his style. It would be foolish to not take cues from the top shipbuilders. At the same time, I'm certainly not trying to carbon-copy anybody either. Not bad. Very Anna.
I like the new triangular thruster block.
Thanks.Hmmmm.... Lets see....
It looks like a Bellatrix or a Thyreo
Navigium is also a good name for it, Acantho as well.
And as for a faction name ill try to come one up for you. Unfortunately my ship name list that I made doesn't include any good faction names
you don't like the multicolored highlighting? I was skeptical about it, but I rather like how it turned out. But, other than the multicolored highlighting it's good.
I'm aware that it's not necessary, I just thought it looked cool. Fine, the laser sight is gone.Just mostly absurd. Thing is, with a weapon like that, a sight doesn't do you much good (since you can't exactly improve the accuracy of such a weapon very much) and as Empty said, it'll set off deflectors.
Handheld versions for all intents and purposes do not exist (what is this, Crysis? no, get out and stop playing video games), partly because of the recoil and partly because of the sheer weight of ammo required for anything vaguely regarding prolonged fire. Oh, and let's not forget power supply for electric-driven ones.Venator wrote:A laser sight has some utility on a minigun, since it at least tells you where the weapon is pointing. Handheld versions are normally carried under-arm, thus making sighting down the weapon or even hipshooting intuitively next to impossible.
Gives new meaning to the term "flagship"Now make one with the Belgian tricolor \o/!
yeah, there's really no getting around the fact that thrusters are just butt-ugly. It looks nicer without them, but then it doesn't have cool exhaust trails and lose speed when its engines are destroyed. It's a tradeoff, and for this particular faction I decided I was finally going to put the thruster module to work. The ship shows alot of detail work which is nice. Almost wish you didnt put thruster modules on top of the engine but it works out ok I think.
I tend to agree about this last one, I really wasn't ecstatic about the final result. I'm having a tough time really pinning down the feel I want for this fleet, and this was what came out of my tinkering around. I think I'm going to mess around with expanding it a bit and see if that doesn't help.Outlines are way too flat. They need some bumps OR curves to be interesting; straight lines are not. This last ship, doesn't even look like a ship.
