The Fleet of the Luytean Order

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

I would like to unveil the new dreadnought of the Order of Luytean 132, the Messiah. Again i was going for big when building this beast and i hope it is big enough! It is definitely bigger than the Archdeacon by far. Later on i hope to build a closed 'mouth' variant, but whether or not its gonna be for this fleet is another matter. :P

Anywho here it is!

Messiah

Currently Flagship of the Order's Naval fleet, the Messiah combines the best from most ships designed so far. The circular blast turrets, enhanced beam package, deflector shields, gatling particle cannons and complex point defense systems all combine to make this the most fearsome ship in the fleet. At the moment, the Messiah is under the command of Paladin Pardaxis, leading the Fourth Fleet in counter Enslaver operations.

on the side note, i do like how the blast cannons (demeter covers) form a nice circular shape.

I apologize if the picture is too big :o

Edit: oh just nice, the big ship starts a new page. :)

Nice!

My only complaint is that it looks fairly same-ish next to the other ships of the fleet; I wouldn't mind seeing a ship minus the split forward hull for example.

That's only a minor thing though; the ship is very attractive from both an aesthetic and technical standpoint.

without the mouth (forward section) you say! excellent all the more reason to pursue the 'mouth'-less version of the messiah!

though it might take me a few moments to get over the horror that is coloring the thing.

I like the teal coloring, it adds an extra bit of depth to the ship, works nicely to make it look bigger than the other ships. I still take issue with the uber-stretched section 24s. They stand out as eyesores on what are otherwise really nice ships.

Make your lasers invisible, they're horribly stretched.

I don't see any horribly stretched weapons. The beamers are compressed only slightly.

Hide the megabeamer at least.

i have returned with a quick update! looking at the megabeamer, i have decided to see how the ship would look with it gone (i.e. invisible), and i must say it looks quite nice (thanks BoVinE) it definitely eliminates some of the clutter.

While you people might not need another picture to see what it might look like, ill post one anyway :D

Oh and for more celebration, i present the Messiah in action. In this case destroying a pirate group's attempt to steal, extensively modify and use one of the Order's older ship frames. As it is fleet policy to prevent any sort of Order technology from falling into anyone else's hands, the pirate cell has been completely annihilated.

until next time! :)

A messiah, not THE Messiah. Indefinite article, not definite.
The ships are looking sweet, and I have to say you've managed to keep a strong central theme with all the ships made so far, with the exception of the Pastor (though it can be excused for that for being a freighter).
Also, one minor spelling error, Shepherd, not Shepard.

You need your spelling to revolutionis/ze.

(Note: There is a reason for the English(GB) and the English(USA) options in some programmes.

Indeed my spelling can be a bit off at times, and yes there is a reason for have English GB and English USA options in some programmes.

But before this thread degrades into a discussion of spelling mistakes and ways of spelling different words in English, i am going to say this is the last post regarding this subject. No more talk about spelling.

Please just critique and comment on the ships.

Thank you for your attention.
