MUCH less ambitious attempt, please criticize

If your gonna do aegis for the engine, turn the section that your using near black, so the lines won't show up. Then it will just be a glow. The overall design is better, and your not spamming as much, but please don't stretch pieces. Even most of the vets don't stretch pieces cuz it still looks horrible. And the next thing you should work on is layering. I like the step-down design of the silhouette, but you could use fewer pieces, or ones that work better together...At least on the Kratos you lined sections up well, this is a mess. That is my effort to give constructive criticism so don't take offense at it.
*edit*
I should say try not to stretch a piece largerthan its default, unless its one or two clicks to fit a gap. I say this because I like the engines, even though I wouldn't have used that section, shrinking smaller is usually ok as long as its evenly scaled down.

So essentially it looks like I need to work on not stretching and layering to give less of a flat apearance, at least that's the impression I'm getting. I'll try to fix some of the layering now, and work on the stretching and alignment in my next design, because quite frankly it's annoying when I can't repeat. Thanks for the help so far.
"Okay. I'm gonna get your money for ya. But if you don't get the President of the United States on that phone, you know what's gonna happen to you?"
"What?!"

I'm not sure how everyone else does it, but when I'm layering, I gusually want the pieces to be lower in depth as I go outward, as with most ships the hull should slope downward from a top-down view. I can see a few pieces around the edge of the big ship you just posted that would be better either lower in depth or maybe pulled more underneath the inner layer.
After that, I would work on using colors to add more depth to the ship, then weapons. Also, I think someone else mentioned it, but instead of using lots of guns, you should use a few modded weapons.

Ok, I have done some tweaking on the layering, and added a few weapons. I tried to somewhat mimic the placement of a few other battlecruisers I've seen here, so please tell me how I did. And thank you for the criticism of my section placing, I will try to not stretch as much on my next ship. As for fitting them together smoothly, however, that is why I was doing repetive ships, so it might not look as flawlessly connected as other people's. Also, thank you for the tip on the engine coloring, but when I tried that the engines were ridiculously dark. I will, however, endeavor to make the engines look better on my next ship.

2 things: first, I would apreciate ideas for a good colorscheme, as I am not particularly good at aesthetics.
Second, this is official notice that if I fail to become reasonably proficient at section integration within a few more ships, when asked I will deny any faults and claim 'cluttered' as my style while working under the table to hopefully improve

this is a huge improvement, especially how the sections fit together, which i was saying you do better than alot of builders. Thats weird about the engine. If you just turn the actual section near black, but change the aegis color to red, it should work, but maybe my directions are off... well can't wait to see your future ships to go with this, just try to keep them to this standard and you will be fine.
Just thought I should do another ship and see if it's okay before creating a more permanent thread for my fleet. It'sobviously not fully armed, and I know it gets a bit cluttered in the back, that's partly intentional. Anyway, please tell me whether you think it's adequate. If so, then after arming and posting I'll construct a fleet that incorporates these ships and give them a home. Also, if I ressurected a dead thread by replying to the Papal Fleet post, then I apologize
. It was listed as the youngest thread in my browser, but I'll be sure to check the date whenever I reply to anything from now on.
Edit: I have been checking, and I can tell you that it is quite certainly my fault. I have checked a few things, and it appears that I have a few problems dealing with scripts
. My apologies, I wil be doubly certain that whenever I reply in the future it's a recent thread.

well its a good evolution of your last design, though I would use fewer demeters and make them launch more perhaps. Theres nothing wrong with commenting on an old thread as long as you have something productive to say, beyond "cool ship" Of course if its a really old thread perhaps a pm to the builder would be better.

You're definately improving.
Here's some suggestions...
The section 17 at the front of the ship doesn't seem like it belongs.
I agree with Raul that there is too many demeter launchers. It's problably a good idea to space them out some.
The engine looks a little odd. It would probably look better if it were split into two or more engines.
Just remember that these are just suggestions and that it's ultimately up to you to decide how to build your ships.

Here it is with most of the suggestions you made. And since I now question the seemingly obvious, there shouldn't be any more necromancy.

silly us, forgot to turn on the 3d graphics...
try telling him how to fix that, like adding color shading to promote depth, or using specific pieces that lend themselves to creating a 3d effect, or linking some of the attempts at 3d ships and angles which have been done. Anything but spamming the top ten posts with one liners in caps.
But then...Admiral is the new ensign these days

Yeah, that's why I've been asking for ideas about a colorscheme. Whenever I try it, it either comes out so subtle no-one here has noticed, or it looks like this:try telling him how to fix that, like adding color shading

Yay, hippy labor!!!

Thanks for the help. Is this any better or do I need to make the differences clearer?

Also, do the engines look better double-aegised, like this?
