More nooby creations. Catastrophe: I have returned

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Agreed. Both of these ships exhibit very respectable section usage, but in both cases, the ships are generic and uninteresting.
http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/6463/smscreen019.png has much more potential for being "fixed up" and made less generic. Also, these are still too glowy. Use glows as accents, not standalone design elements.

The glows are fine. The depth and section usage is what needs to be improved.
Though I agree that the density of glows is bit too much.

I liked it much better without the spikes.

They seem to cramp the style the nose had.

Agreed, but the spikes on the rest of the ship look pretty good, gives it an evil look somehow. Hmm, perhaps if you inverted the spikes right behind the ones on the nose so they pointed in the same direction as the nose-tip ones it would look better while still retaining that..evil look to it.

Better tho!

You could maybe actually try to use grey properly, i.e to simulate depth?

I like it. It has good flow, and is much more interesting than previous iterations. I agree with AD, though. The next step is depthing.

I decided it was time I made some of my own sprites. I don't have that many so there are still a lot of other sprites in this ship.

That actually doesn't look spammed, it just looks pretty! The colors look pretty too.

Did you do something to the image (like add bloom), or is that weird glowy white stuff really there?

EDIT: looked at the gif, ok good the weird shit isn't really there. good.

Adding more purple didn't do the trick for me, it was fine as it was, what you should have done was just choose a lighter shade of grey, the section work was fine as it was.

:?:

If you ask me, the purplish sections look fine to me. The gray also looks fine in most places. And you're saying "was fine", etc. I believe this is a new ship?

EDIT: wait, were you referring to the dark and purple ships? Nvm. >_>

Ignore me.
