Dachplatte's Shipyard - Sixth Behemoth Update - 26 July

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Bump. Currently working on the 'googolian fleet' <s>(i know, the name sucks)</s>
Sorry for the <s>second</s> Third doublepost, but nobody posts any replies. C&C is really welcome.

Googolian "Agressor" Fleet

The 'Agressor' fleet exists of high-tech ships, all designed by uber-advanced computer systems.
Each of the ships is controlled by an Artificial Intelligence, thereby not needing any crew. These
'A.I.' ships are superior to almost any other ship that. Even the 'Stalagmite',
flagship of the Taurellian Imperia, had to retreat when it was attacked by five 'Mammoths'.

Not too bad, considering what come across this forum sometimes. A few friendly words of advice.
The colors are harsh on the eyes. Get rid of the deep blue in favor of something easier to look at, gray is fairly safe for less experienced builders.
Your section usage is sloppy in places, particularly the rear, where some pieces are jammed together, edge-to-edge, without any apparent purpose.
All in all, it is a decent start. I recommend you lurk around a bit, take a gander at other ships for ideas (but don't steal).

The first ships looked like you were trying a bit too hard. The newer ones look a lot more... subdued. Not crazy. It may be that I like it better that way, but I dunno.

Good job, overall.

These newer ships look much better. Section usage is neater and seems like more thought went in, and the colors don't hurt my eyes.

I'm back with more! I redid the triculum and made a new ship, which stil needs a name. They're both mad with basic sprites, don't ask me why

Hey nothing wrong with stock sprites, I actually think its better to learn using those so you get more experience making pieces work together. I very much like the Triculum (if that is the one on the left) though it seems like the middle of its body could be built up more, and I don't like the stretched sections much...

*edit* Oh, my bad. The 18s looked stretched cuz they were partially hidden.

It's okay, as long as you post new ships and they're a couple of days apart. Good ships though.

I like these ships. Very cool style. I would love to see a large sized production from you. Have you uploaded any of these?

I like the battlestations rotation, good idea.

Also like the glowy ship. Although the blue glowy thing is a bit bright, compared to the rest of the ship (Besides the engine).

BTW, how do you make those glowy afterburners and cores?
It's not my fault I can't take your post seriously.

You pick a section, set it's effect to fake aegis, then set alpha low and spread and blur to desired strength. Then just pick the color you want. If you fiddle with it, you can get many desired effects.
