Opinions on my ship

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Opinions on my ship

Post by Kiltric »

Just wanted some feedback on this before I started arming it. Let me know.

EDIT: reworked it, much less repetition. Any more thoughts?

Reminds me of those ancient ships that were built when there were only stock sections available.
I don't think that's a good thing.

Indeed. I think it has something to do with the repetition/section size.

That in and of itself isn't necessarily a bad thing. Many of the old ships were quite good. This one, however, has one extremely prominent flaw: repetition. Instead of tiling the one piece over and over and over and over and ov.... try to use different combinations to achieve the same shape and any interior designs. As it is now, the shape is nice, but the construction leaves much to be desired.

"What?!"

WHOA PART REPETITION.
You may have noticed, we now have well over 100 sections to work with. Spamming those triangles (and god forbid the 22's) is not a pretty sight. Try again.

It wouldn't be that bad if those wings weren't the first thing you see.

Much better, still some repetition on small sections but still looks good.

If there's one thing that's as bad as repetition, it's stretching the hell out of sections. All you've done is traded one evil for another.
