My first attempt at ship building!

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

My first attempt at ship building!

Post by Crazyeyes24 »

Since my friend has gotten me hooked on BSF, I have been tinkering alot with the ship builder. I have been reading the forums alot and thought I might show you guys my first Fan-build. It's the Archangel from Gundam Seed

First of all, How is this a fan build :?:
Second I noticed that you didnt make some of the noob mistakes, like over arming your ship. the design is good but the front to engine things are a little annoying to be honest

You have all those features of an Archangel on it, but it seems that the proportion is quite messy. And you can use more colours to show the depthings and making it look more 3D.

I'm glad that a newbie on this forum didn't make all the n00blet mistakes. :)

Thanks guys, I am working on getting the proportions right but it is hard doing it from the photos I have. After all my snooping I couldn't find a top down view lol

Also, I am trying to get the two megabeams tweaked to look like the guns on the ship in the series (red with like a white/blue outline) any tips/hints?

Perhaps you can draw your own beam sprite, and you may add a tesla overlay on the beam so it may look like that beam cannon in SEED.

its close in appearance to the archangel. are you going to add the ship fabricator so it'll look like its launching sky-graspers?
in insanity, everything makes sense.

I think its a good job, though the proportions seem slightly off.

Looks almost like a catamaran I saw once. Giant fins included.
I lost my avatar because I made it too big.

I really like the skygrasper idea, I first thought about launching the mobile suits but it would probably be easier to do them instead lol. I'll get on it and try messing with the ship fabricators to get the catapults working.

Here is the rough draft of the Skygrasper (default weapons and no striker packs)

The blue seems a bit off, and the nose is a bit overstreched, but over all good ship

Not a bad structure but colors need a good work over, the whites/grey are okay but orange clashes with green and blue. Also, partially obscue your modules and weapons with 'W' key to give it a better perception of depth. Finally, avoid over-strecthing/shrinking your sections, if you need to hit the I/K keys more than five times, than you should use multiple smaller sections instead.
