The Mara- Hiatus

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Very cool indeed.

These are the most organic, most awesome, most beautiful ships i have seen in a while. (from anyone who doesn't regularly generate titanic works of art)

*Magick gives a standing ovation

Beautiful.

So far your creations have been rather mediocre, so i thought its just a one timer with the Millibite when you started this thread. But you proved you can in fact make exceptionally good looking ships, and not only that, but also with very original style and unlike anything else ive seen here. They really look like some organic being from deep, dark waters.

I usually don't read backstories, but i made an exception and skimmed through a few sentences first, and they were good enough to entice me into reading the whole background. I have to say, as much as i don't care about walls of text describing each ship, these were quite a pleasant reading that truly fits your ships.

All in all, a solid, coherent fleet with a very unique and pleasant style. Congratulatios on that.

VERY cool, I mean ........stutters for next two hours, then finally collapses from exaustion. Finally wakes up later with amnesia.
As the dawn calmly rises, the smooth metal glimmers. Forty ships of the fleet slip by with smooth ease. The ominous planet below them is soon to witness the largest battle in galactic history

I tried to balance them somewhere in between Anna's Mechanim and SIUS orbital ships. The Millibite is roughly similar in balance to the Healevore, the Aspidochelone is balanced similar to the Cu Chulainn, etc etc.
BoVinE wrote: I think the highlighting detracts from your plan for the ships to be organic by establishing the hard edges. Maybe change the highlighting color to another shade of purple or remove it entirely?
The reasoning behind the highlighting is that when you zoom out to get a grander scale of the battlefield, they sometimes blend in too well. I may change the outline to default color, so whoever spawns the ship gets his/her own "house color."

Thanks, I was hoping these would suck a little less than my previous creations. :D

I may build a few more models later...

Haha I kid DeathsHand, balance is subjective and I just wanted to throw in a bit of humour to my post.

However I do agree that the ships that you are balancing them on are strong. Nothing wrong with that. So at least now I have a bearing on how 'strong' you want your ships to be.

My favorite so far is the Calanoid. The oversized demeter and the completely black sections look off though.

They are indeed awesomely strong.....i barely managed to defeat the largest one and when the battle was finished....only 30% of my ship was left

The ship designs are most impressive, i greatly enjoyed combating them and hope to see more in the future ^^

These are great ships to fight against and I really like how they look as well. I did notice one parenting error on the Calanoid....
