Ia-Atha (Supcom Fanship)

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Ia-Atha (Supcom Fanship)

Post by Slayer0019 »

I don't know how many Supreme Commander players we have out there, but this is my Ia-Atha, Seraphim T1 Interceptor. I did the shape as best I could, and gave the same stats and weapon.

It is far from a perfect model of proper layering and part connection, but I was more concerned with getting the shape right than the internals. It holds true to the reference picture I used, and I may go back and color it.

Here we go:

Looks great. Not quite awesome, but it looks good.

I love SC:FA and you should make more.

[EDIT] ship in the download has no weapon.

Lessee... It's a monotonely-coloured pile of scrap metal with an overstretched beamer...Save for (and that's a stretch too) the hole, it's UGLY as sin. It's definetely not good, albeit there's worse. Try to look at a few good ships first before building... At least there's no repetition, but some of the parts really don't mix too well. Better luck next time, and REALLY, use Custom Colours, it can make shit look decent...

Nice try. Too random section choices and no color scheme, but apart from that, it looks good.

He modeled it after something. The hole will be prominent anyway, and even if he looks at other ships, it won't really change the shape.

Even so, Slayer, you might want to use a reference pic. If you did, do you mind posting it? I haven't played Supreme Commander.

I've played SA:FA and even without the reference pic handy it really does look like a Seraphim aircraft.

Hmm, I agree. It's not bad, even if the middle of it looks kind of jumbled. Try colouring it, though.

Oh, I'd forgotten about the details...

Perhaps because my computer's too slow to actually give me a good view of them. XD

Anyways, closer than I thought in some ways, not so close in others. The little circle, for example, doesn't look right...

Build their T4 Strat Bomber.
Don’t worry it has airbags.

I know I'm not good at filling empty space, and I have this inherent inability to place 2 of the same part next to each other in empty space.
Kanosint, though I appreciate all criticism, that wasn't exactly constructive, and I think I made it very clear in my post that I modeled it and focused on the outline. Isn't there a thread somewhere saying that if you're gonna criticize, don't just tell me "It sucks". Tell me what I did wrong and how to fix it.
My reference pic:

Thats hard... I'm sure I could do it, but no promises on quality.

I prefer UEF and Cybran units myself.

You could probably try doing the UEF and Cybran T3 bombers and interceptors.

Yeah, but the UEF have a boring top view.
Cybran might be cool though. I'll have to take a few screens.

Actually, the T3 transport could turn out interesting.

Sorry, I didn't see that you were aware of the colours... Still, the shape does look great, but you should try to use less clutter... I dunno, it looks very pieced together, and I'm only trying to help you, if the clutter is lessened, the beamer cleaned up... then I'm quite sure it'll look really good, but right now, sorry, it's simply a true-to-model outline with a meagre construction. Even though you realize this, it's not much of an excuse.
An hour of extra work and this would've been SO much better, really, try it and I'm sure you'll agree.
