Hi everyone, newb here with my first ship - the Manticore. Somewhat stock-balanced (as long as you stay out of its Particle Cannon's firing arcs).

The hull of this ship was based off of the Orion (a Hecate refit ship which I found while searching the Ship Database). Credit goes to Trashman (is he still around?) for making the original Orion.

Here is the Manticore, next to the Orion:

Here's to hoping that Anna doesn't crush my hopes and dreams too badly... :)

Nice work with the arnament, and it's interseting that it's stock balanced, not too much of that these days.

EDIT: EXE, I know. I read the post. I just think that the caption could get a little confusing. I could probably have phrased it better, though.

EDIT2: Okay, now that I've apologized (or tried to, I'm not too good at that today :roll:) I should talk about the ship. Yes, it looks like a stock ship. It's one of the better variants I've seen though.

The pic I get only has one ship, and it looks suspiciously like some of the stock ships.
Try reading the post. The Manticore is the Orion hull, which is in turn a Hecate/Athena refit. Obviously with the picture he made a mistake.

It's nice to see the differences and compare. I like before and after pictures when something's been refit, it just seems more complete and makes me happy, so I'm glad it's there. Thanks. Also, Exe, look up for my apology.

so are there any flaws that can be pointed out by you guys? weapon spam? too much like the Hecate/Athena? Bad highlighting job?

Good ships, no real problems other that the weapons. I think that there are just a few too many on the ship, however the variation definitely make up for it. Amazing for a first, MUCH better than me.

Just a small tip: Try to crop your screenshots before posting them. They stretch the forums a fair bit, and are largely composed of just black space.

I agree with Lizzie, this is a very good looking upgrade to the Hecate design.

Change the booster color, and it'll be a lovely ship, excellent work :)
And I think the weapon placement is rather pretty, arcanedude :P
It is a little cluttered, but nothing is placed at random, everything looks good.
