Two Large Ships

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Two Large Ships

Post by Venator »

... for lack of a remotely creative title. Just random side-tangents, also my contributions to the blue & gray and red & gray ship series that seem to be so common.

The Halberd of Kroaenar:
Image

During the construction of this vessel, I aimed to explore new venues of weapon colour, creating a rainbow as attractive as it was destructive.

... okay, fine, I just wanted to fuck around with pretty colours .

The Garyaed Cruiser:

Wayy to many tachyons. Oh well, I'll fix the armament later.
Image

The name's actual a fusion of "grey and red" - the test name was "Cruiser GreyRed" due to colour.

Download.

Oh damn, those look pretty awesome, Venator. Very nice. No complaints here. The Halberd of Kroaenar especially looks god damn freakin' awesome. Love it.

The 3 section 04's in the front of the first one are bad.

But otherwise the ships are pretty good.

Firstly, that's section 05, not section 04. Secondly, get the hell out, you worthless, plagiaristic hack. You're not one to be critiquing work this good, as you've yet to make anything that comes close to the Halberd's level. The Section 05's look fine. Slightly out of place, a bit, but otherwise fine.

Edit: Honestly, my biggest complaint is the Section 10's on the rear "wings" of the Halberd. They kinda stand out like a sore thumb. Big, square bricks marring an otherwise kickass, sleek ship.

Your bumpy phallis ships are awesome.

I like the back end of the first one most, it just looks really well executed and it also has a nice shape. Good job.

Nice!
Though the second one REALLY reminds me of one of AD's ships...just colored differently.

Huh, I just noticed that.

How about rotating them so the top edge is in line with the 'wing'?
Nice!

Yeah, I felt it was kind of similar to the RAN vessels. On the flipside, building nacelles has always been one of my biggest problems, so I'm just happy to get that right :P.

I believe he is referring to the fact that pretty much all your ships are bad imitations of Anna's building style.

On Venator's nice ships:

The Halberd is smexy, but I agree with Anna about the section 10s in the back.

I like the Garyaed as well except for those large particle guns which look bad IMO.

I love the light blue tachyons.

The only real complaint I might have is that the Garyaed might be a bit heavy on the missile launchers.

I was looking for a creative way to cover the beams... laziness, I should just shrink the other components.

Yeah. Noticed that one... as I mentioned, the weapons on the Garyaed were pretty much a "meh, I'll fix them later" effort.
