Smallish very fast ship: Swallow

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Not defensive in the slightest, is it?

At all.

(Also, how souped up are those 3 weapons? Curiosity.)

Heh, that thing has more deflectors on it than most of my super-large Dreadnaughts do... nice design.

I'd like to see it go up against my Galactus Cannon...

If that's smallish, my Falcon ship is a midget.

Technically, a fast ship shouldn't need deflectors. Heck, it shouldn't even need PD guns at such high speeds. A well-piloted, fast ship such as that can easily evade any sort of assault. Then again, your ship is a bit bigger than mine, so who am I to speak?

Hint: click the pic; you can fly it yourself and find out just how souped it is!

They're not totally imba-ly pumped with steriods xD

The rail guns are your normal design, 3 shot barrels, 2 firing rate with a 15 reload time.

The Missiles shoot 8 at a time, forgot the reload, and they have a 50 deviation.

And finally the (Shock? I forgot) Beamer has 6 damage and 1.8k range.

I've done worse ^.^

This thing is awesome; it makes a wonderful pirate raider for its high speed and maneuverability, but it suffers in a static slugfest. I think a continuously moving fighterplane-style hit-and-run AI would play this ship very well. I can make it dance; dart into attack range, fire a burst of gunfire, then fly past the target out of range before the target shoots back in an 'emulation' of the AI attack pattern I describe.

I'm thinking of piloting one against a Post-Dated Check Loan to see if I can take it down

'Bird of Prey' upgrade: Three extra reactors (two in wing joints), two deflectors, and several particle guns, as well as a slight thruster rearrangement and Impeder installation. Two more missile launchers added to outer wings, and main gun barrels extended slightly to accomodate two Particle Guns each.

Gah, such an absurd amount of modules/weapons in such a small space...

'Eagle Talons' upgrade.

Primary Railgun Battery completely redesigned, now housing twin Railgun barrels and four self-contained Booster reactors. Muzzle device replaced with a simpler design for lighter weight and reinforced with its own dedicated Aegis mounted in the rear of the primary weapon near the Boosters; muzzle device still serves to house two Particle Machineguns as per Bird of Prey specifications. Gravitic impeder integrated in the weapon's barrel to stop incoming weapons fore targeted directly at the weapon itself. Two Booster reactors in the abdomen reassigned to power the nose Beamer, likely soon to be replaced with a Shockbeam.

Heavier weapons resulted in a slight but noticeable performance penalty compared to the elder Swallows.

One core + mining beam + obscene damage + nonexistent rate of fire and reload time.
