Some Assorted Ships...

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Some Assorted Ships...

Post by Venator »

Nothing too special, just a few side-projects and tangents I've been working on. I've got two or three fleets that I'm serious about, these are just "doodles".

The Stormarrow:
Playing around with station-like branching in four directions from the core. Played with the pinnacles and Aegis to make something I think looks at least interesting.
Image

The Shipion:
So named because I couldn't decide if I was building a ship or a station till it got underway :P. Playing with Boosters and such.
Image

Police Ships:
Messing around with basic asymmetry. I'll probably expand on them.
Image

The Gemstar:
Boredom. An ugly brick covered with Aegis. Moving on.
Image

The Explorator:
Trying to make a "hard" scifi vessel. Here's what I came up with.

DL here. Thoughts?

Sexy, the Gemstar is purty, so I'll forgive it for being an aegis whore.

Very impressive. The faint blurry aegis makes some very nice effects. You also pulled off very nice use of Section 26s, and I like the station inspired ships.

Thanks. I rarely like the "RARGH!!! GLOWWY!" deflector effect, less so when I'm decking a whole ship.

26's have often been a crutch in my building; sometimes it works out great, other times I have to rebuild a ship a few times before I'm happy.

Always jump to your post when I see you've posted ships. The explorator is very nice. I mean in spots it looks wrong but then I think harecore scifi vessel and it fits.

The gemstar is pure nastiness, and by that I mean that I phear approaching it.

The police vessels are ok but imo it looks like symetrical ships with a few pieces slapped on one side but not the other. Still, hard to do much at that scale.

The Shipion is different but it just looks unfinished. I see some of the trademarks from your other ships but it could use more work if you decide to keep it. The Stormmarrow is almost pretty although I think thats the colors, but the 4-way is an interesting look.

I look forward to the ships you've been putting actual effort into though, because those will definitly be worth it. Still downloaded these though.

I think you're doing awesome. Good job. The ships are all good, save for the aegis whore. I particularly like the 'realistic' design of the Explorator.

The Explorator is epic. It would be great to expand on this and make a low-tech space fleet.

The Stormarrow is pretty cool, but everything else is a bit dull and already-been-there.

Wow, thanks for all the complements! I didn't expect the Explorator to be the star of the collection.

I'm planning on fleshing out the Stormarrow and Explorator lineages to make full fleets; the others were, as jwa8402 and Exethalion, partially-finished and boredom-induced.
