The flames will come. Just wait a few hours until the author reads this topic or whatever and knows exactly what we think of his garbage.Verminator wrote:There's been no flames yet. Maybe we can expect an improvement?
Either that, or he'll be the rare bad shipbuilder who's a responsible forumite. Time will tell.

you guys do realize that i said a pre ALPHA? these ships are only half done. i am working on getting it to look less repetitive. The heavy cruiser by the way is just the shape of it, i am going to remove the sections and replace them to make it more of a diverse, and generic feel. oh by the way, i am going to start from scratch.

if you're going to post ships, than you're asking people to post comments on them (read this http://www.wyrdysm.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2551). If you say somthing is alpha, that implies it is a base that you're working off of. These ships have no redeeming qualities whatsoever. As such, people are going to say so. (seriously, they don't have ANY) Therefore, either don't post them, or don't get pissy when people tell you that your ships are shit.
Frankly, i wish you'd do the first one, as frankly, by posting this you managed to drop the average quality of ships on this forum by quite a bit.
edit: yeah, that was a bit rude... i was kind of angry while posting (just got one of the most pissy emails i've ever recieved)
in any case, ignore the rudeness, but the point still stands.

Oi. I generally don't care about rudeness, but you're pretty much in the same boat as him. You don't have much of a reputation to stand on when you start shooting off unnecessary insults and semi-trolling people. Your comment would carry a lot more weight if you didn't make a point of being insulting. Even Anna doesn't make a serious point of it until necessary (and he uses proper grammar to bootlightstriker wrote: Frankly, i wish you'd do the first one, as frankly, by posting this you managed to drop the average quality of ships on this forum by quite a bit.

[Edit:] As to the ships, yes, they're bad. Honestly. Pre-alpha is not an excuse. Take them away, work on them, and come back with something worth critiquing, because we'd be happy to critique a ship with potential.

nevermind about cancelling homeworld, but then i may just give up if some more flames keep coming. I was really hoping to recieve positive criticism instead of people going "your ship sucks!" or "give up dude." I was planning on making the ships look OMGSUPERAWESOME. but you guys are just making me have second thoughts. I seriously am going to make ALL OF THE RACES. But seriously if i recieve any more "this sucks" comments. then you are going to miss out on ALL of the stuff and they are going to be for private use only.
Edit: and darksoul, i did look at the modding guide. i followed everything, i looked at the ships of other people. and i know how to use the shipmaker.

Then what you're missing is good old experience. Make a bunch of smaller ships, and play around with them. Then gradually make bigger and bigger ships, until you've gotten the hang of putting together good-looking ships. It's what I've done so far, and it's worked out pretty well for me.
