The Creld (battlestation WIP page 6)

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Your last couple of ships are pretty awesome. The orange one especially is just awesome - I visualize the arms as housing gigantic power plants whose wrath is inflicted from the tiny yellow modules at the ends.

I have plans for 1-2 more ships, and then I can start balancing, and maybe doing the shading I did on Soma to these.
Edit: considering an overhaul of the lowest ship on the picture.

Finished Soma is quite delicious! Still waiting on the armament, of course, but it looks very, very good. The shading really brings out the shape of it. Also, sweet use of curves.

EDIT: One thing you may consider is using sections 23, 17, and 13 along the centerline to try and hide it a bit; I just noticed that on the Soma it stands out a bit. Plus, section 17 is fricking awesome. I don't think this is critical to the ship's aesthetic by any means, but when you cover up that centerline and do the kind of shading you've done, it really works together to make the part edges sorta blend together to show off the shape of the ship as a whole. Gimme more eyecandy!

Tal, the only problem with that is I don't what to do about their parenting. one side, the other or both, I'm not sure.

Hidden center-spine maybe?

The ship designs are definately awesome, but I keep thinking something more could be done with the engines. Dunno what exactly.

Keep in mind, they're on low hp, and the thruster on each takes a big chunk of their speed/accel/turning.

Seeing as I think the best use of those sections would be on top of the others, the parenting honestly probably will never matter, as not a whole lot will be parented to it, and if it is getting destroyed probably all the other sections around it and under it are getting smashed too anyways. It's never been a big issue for me at any rate, and I think it'd be a worthwhile thing to pursue.

Epic.
Also, i think you should keep the center line. Makes them look like precious gems.
