Dogfights. Gotta love 'em.

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

As the title sais.

I had the crazy idea to rebuild a Mitsubishi Zero, and they seemes to like it on IRC. Then I started on a Spitfire. They liked it too. So, why change a succesformula?

The Mitsubishi Zero;

Image

Armed with the traditional 7.7 and 20mm cannons, of course adapted to BSF. The bombs were changed to plasma torpedoes.

Download the Zero

The Supermarine Spitfire;

(Fuzzy pic is fuzzy, I know.)

Armed with the MKII VB weapons, again adapted to BSF. 2 20mills, and two .303's. Bombs changed to torps, again.

Download to follow.

Also; poll.

I want to see some German and British fighters, then you can do the bombers.

"Me want whole airforce woop woop" ok random excited jumping over. Now being serious these look quite interesting and may help me decide on a interesting design for my fighters for my fleet.

Nice. Nice. Templated ships are a lot less common around here than I first thought. I based mine off of my lego creations (See my thread.)

Nice job. If you can, shrink the parts so they are less big (or if they are already small, give me a size comparison.)

I already have. Most of these are about the size of an Oenone and smaller, except for the Spitfire, which came out a bit...larger than expected. I'll try to fix that one, though.

EDIT: massive avatar is massive. PM is on the way, don't jump up on his back for it.

If templates means built to a design, that fits nearly all of mine, I scan in a drawn outline.

It'd be cool to watch a hurricane open up with all 8 machine guns :)

You should build some Essex carriers and stuff. That would be cool.
Don’t worry it has airbags.

Downloaded and took a stab. The design is faithful to the source, total success, though seeing airplanes sliding across the battefield and drifting around is rather unsettling.

Actually a carrier to scale with these would be wicked, not to mention a cool silhouette in BSF. As for drifting, if anyone could come up with a way to make planes drift it would be the Japanese, but can't you mod acceleration and turning to fix that, since their too small to care if they turn instantly?

If only we had a fighter AI that forced them to fo turns instead of just pivoting around their center...(hint, hint, th15 BSF2)

Anyhow, thanks for the support, guys. Never thought it'd get this much approval.

I should think some more while using the bathroom. :lol:

Anyhow, according to the poll we, first prioruty is the Hawker Hurricane, then some larger craft (B-17 Flying Fortress FTW!).
