The CUS Navy - Second Generation [Update: 7/5/08]

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

The CUS Navy - Second Generation [Update: 7/5/08]

From: Dr. Jacob Black

After CUS Scout ships found several crippled warships, some with survivors, but most with piles of corpses with strange burns and boils. However, we found one ship that was completely intact, her name was "Dawn's Light" the name suggests that it was from the Commonwealth of Free Stars. Vesuvius Class to be exact. She was clean, no dust, no people, no signs of a firefight that would have forced the crew to abandon ship, only scattered belongings. We towed it back to the shipyards and many surprises, first of all, the generator was too powerful for a ship of it's size, the weapons were relatively low yield, so we assumed it was the shield generator that hogged most of the energy, we activated it and suddenly, the ship was encased in a bubble of energy!

We soon reversed engineered the shield and reactor systems, currently we are designing a bubble shield system for the Wellington.
PS: Our scientists overestimated the power consumption of the 'bubble' shield generators, and we used the extra power to run our new EREY (Extended Range and Extended Yield) (E-ray) Weapons Systems, most of which have the same reload tims as conventional energy weapons.

Note: Ships of the Hood Class are scheduled to be refitted with 'Bubble' shield generators.

wow these are cool, they have a really detailed and industrial feel to them, though that may partly be the way you set up the screenshot. Can't wait to try these! Lots of weapons...but are they modded? Seems like they could be used with stock if not
*edit* *limps home in partly destroyed ship*...ask a stupid question...get the crap blown out of you by scatter beams, lol

OK, so I have some screenshots of an outpost, a design concept, and my Hood MKII.
Image
The outpost, currently unarmed. What should I arm it with?

I think they're located on pitch-black (or close to pitch-black) sections. i see faint lines underneath.

Those sections are dark blue, I think I need to brighten the images a bit. On brighter monitors though, you can see them.

Maybe you should highlight them, or place a sun in the background...

Only with a desert / tan colored hull does white usually make a good outline.

Mods, I'm sorry for the necro. I got caught up in making ships, these are the ones I chose to upload.

Anyways, here goes. Guys, sorry for the white background and everything being fuzzy, GIMP is messing up. Sorry for the Color Sheme too (Forest Green, Tan and Brown).

A Halifax Class Prototype Carrier being escorted by two Solaris Class Light Fast Attack Frigates.
The Halifax Class carries several 'Garrote' class Heavy Tachyon Drivers, has been finalized on the Hood MKIV Blk. A as Claymore Class Heavy Tachyon Drivers. It also carries two Stormbolter Class High Capacity Fast Tachyon (HCFT) Bolters, each can fire 100 tachyon bolts, each bolt does low damage.

The Solaris Class carries a SRJ unit that is capable of 10 short range jumps without recharging. Range is limited.

Image
The Hood MKIV Blk. A Class Vanguard has seen a major upgrade, switching the standard Tachyon Repeaters with Stormbolters, the blasters with Missile and Plasma Torpedo units, some of the Gatling Blasters with Claymore Class Heavy Tachyon Drivers. Data on the Hera Class Carrier (Middle) and the Alcatraz Class Missile Cruiser (Left) is still classified (I'm working on the backstory behind this), the ships of the Alcatraz Class are slightly smaller than the Hood Class Vanguards.

Simulator Profiles

I will post the BMPs later after I switch my ZEN.

That's why you should save BSF screenshots in .png format, instead of .jpg, you dolt. :P

Meh, the pngs also had the white background problem, it's probably the white that flushes all the colors out.
