Bellcross Federation - Helicopters in space? Why not?

Archives for ships and fleets. 'nuff said. Most of the ships here are very very old and will not work in current versions of BSF or SM. You have been warned!

Never trust browser games.

If you want to get really technical, IIRC, Battlecruisers were battleships stripped down for speed. But that's 4:30am memory and I'm not the sharpest right now.

For that matter, never trust sizes visually.

To be fair you're allowed to use whatever system you want but people are easily riled by something that appears to be fundamentally wrong.

Okay then, switched battleships and battlecruisers on the list. Good thing I didn't make any yet.

On the dot, Battlecruisers just had armor removed so you'd have a ship with the same number of large weapons, and increased speed.

From smallest to largest based on real world ships

Fighter
Bomber
Corvette
Frigate
Destroyer (A fast and highly maneuverable warship)
Cruiser
Battle cruiser (A ship with battleship level armament and cruiser level armor, faster then a Battleship)
Carrier
Battleship
Dreadnought
Super Carrier

The dreadnought is basically an all big gun battleship, a bit bigger and heavier armored then a normal battleship and is fitted with mostly all big caliber cannons instead of varying calibers of cannons

A super carrier is currently the biggest warship since they stopped making dreadnoughts after world war two, if a modern dreadnought was developed im sure it would be larger then current super carriers

no country currently has or makes battleships or dreadnoughts, the largest modern warships are heavy cruisers and super carriers

there are many other types of warships but i could not find roughly there size compared to the warships on the list

I believe the U.S. still has some modernized Iwoa class Battleships.
I just looked up something called an arsenal ship...I'm totally making one.

Iowa-class battleships were a planned class of six fast battleships ordered by the United States Navy in 1939 and 1940 to escort the Fast Carrier Task Forces that would operate in the Pacific Theatre of World War II. Four were completed in the early to mid-1940s; two more were laid down, canceled prior to completion, and ultimately scrapped. They comprised the final class of U.S. battleships to be built.

The Iowa-class battleships served in every major U.S. war of the mid and latter half of the 20th century. In World War II, they defended aircraft carriers and shelled Japanese positions before being placed in reserve at the end of the war. Recalled for action during the Korean War, the battleships provided artillery support for UN forces fighting against North Korea. In 1968, New Jersey was recalled for action in the Vietnam War and shelled Communist targets near the Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone. All four were reactivated and armed with missiles during the 1980s as part of the 600-ship Navy. In 1991, Missouri and Wisconsin fired missiles and 16-inch (406 mm) guns at Iraqi targets during the Gulf War. All four battleships were decommissioned in the early 1990s as the Cold War drew to a close, and were initially removed from the Naval Vessel Register; however, at the insistence of the United States Congress, two were reinstated to the Naval Vessel Register for maintenance in the mothball fleet in 1995. These last two battleships were removed from the Naval Vessel Register in 2006.

sadly the remaining two have been decommissioned and are being put in a naval museum :(

Guess I didn't catch that part...then again...I suppose they wouldn't be necessary if there's something like Supercarriers. I want to see a Supercarrier do a FUCKING BEES scramble now...

Kira, you should totally make an arsenal ship next.

I pretty much already have the basis for one, and I just finished moving stuff around. Yes, moving stuff around.

Holy hell. I don't know how they did it, but the Xenon that was with us suddenly started folding outwards into this monstrosity here.

Image

Apparently, the ship packs a surprise, the ability to deploy itself! Like this, it's got more firepower than we could possibly imagine on a corvette. One Gravity Acceleron Cannon, which fires gravitationally sped up projectiles, was hidden inside the bow, and two big missile arrays are on swing-out wings. The Tactical Hyperspace Device folded itself into a Phalanx Buster cannon, a modified version of the Dark Matter Cannon. Wow...... Two slide-out solar panels also poked out of the rear engine tails.

The cannons also have an incredibly long range, twice as far as they could originally shoot in the undeployed mode. Although it does have pretty weak armour, it can dish out a lot of damage before being taken out. In Arsenal mode, the Xenon is rendered immobile though.

Excerpt from Alexander Rook's E-diary, Sergeant First-Class, Wyrmion Fleet 1st Division.

Note: Each missile launcher is set to 10 burst. Ouch.

Vulcan Miniguns?

No fleet can survive without a Prenix support cruiser. This ship houses two Nanoprojectors and a lot of other gear, while being lightly armed. It's fast though, and it has two EMP Burst Cannons to disable enemy ships long enough for it to escape.

Your ships look good, probably because of the great outlining job.

What? It's over before we did much? We just got pulled back from the scouting mission with a reason that the IVL just founded a logistical alliance with the VSE, and that they're gonna restore the Alliance. I think I slept that class through in school. Oh well, I'm cool. After all, we still get to fight the To Loh Venaari or something. Ooops, To'Hol Venaari.

Reports say that some VSE civilians are infected with some kind of plague nanovirus, and the To'Hol Venaari are the creators of it. Those bastards already went berserk on some planets in nearby galaxies, it seems. Whatever they're using to blow em up, I hope our GDE missiles will be able to blow holes though them.

That said, the boss just announced that Wyrmtech Industries ain't Wyrmtech Industries no more. Bellcross Federation's the name now, and he's the head of the council, which consists of our old bosses. We'll colonize the planet if the VSE give us the go-ahead. Fleet name's changed too. Heck, I like this name better. But still, there's been no announcement of our alliance with the VSE yet!

Excerpt from Alexander Rook's E-diary, Sergeant First-Class, Bellcrossian Nova Fleet 1st Division, 'Blood Seraphs' Elite Fighter Squadron.

Message from the Council of Restoration of the old Alliance

It is with great thanks that we accept the help of the newly formed Belcross federation. It is the hope of the Council's members that your support will not go unrewarded. The Galactic Alliance is now one step closer.

VSE high command has, in the face of this new development, handed a special charter to the Belcross federation; that of Protected Teritorry. The BF also has permission to colonize the world of Outreach, in the hopes that it's citizens may find a home away from home.

End message.

Well, that went well. We finally got the go-ahead to colonize Outreach, and we've already established a city called Redron, soon-to-be capital, on an island there using orbital drop pods and Skylaunch ships. It's already got the basics, including food nanogeneration and a spaceport. I just landed here, actually. The Bellcross Federation should be able to grow fine here though.

That said, I just finished going over the blueprint of our latest transformable ship, the Rhino Heavy Frigate. In ship mode, it's quite weak, but has some pretty touch armour. However, in Arsenal mode, it's awesome. Our engineers managed to fit a Graviton Cannon inside the hull that telescopes out of the hull when the front splits apart. The side portions of the hull turn into really big missile batteries, capable of firing about 300 missiles simultaneously, and two Graviton Disruption Cannons poked their nozzles out of the stern. I guess the thrusters do take up a lot of power, for the ship, a frigate, no less, to be able to power so many weapons......

Picture quality's crap, I know. But I can't save as PNG with any other program than Paint now.

PNG is a lossless compression algorithm, so it doesn't have varying degrees of quality. It doesn't matter if you saved it as a PNG in Paint or Photoshop, the results will be identical.

Oh, and that's one scary ship! 300 missiles simultaneously? I hope you've tested the balancing, cause that could get out of hand fast. I like the transformation idea, though it is a little cliche.
